My husband and I have been to Roy’s Store and Cabins before and enjoyed our visit. I have been begging for another trip. We recently visited and I have never been so disappointed in a trip. We arrived and went to our cabin to find a burned out bulb. Not a big deal. We called and someone brought a bulb over. Trash was everywhere in the grass behind the cabin. We picked it up. Still not a problem. We went to the pier and discovered a bunch of trash spread across it. It appeared that someone had been magnet fishing and just left all the trash in the walkway. We picked it all up as I am at high risk for falling. We continued to the end of the pier and found beer cans pushed into the wood all across the end. We cleaned them up. Still, not a problem. The best part of the trip for me is fishing at night from the lighted pier. Darkness came and NO LIGHTS. We called and the response was, “There are not on?” No offer to fix them or anything. The next morning we woke up to ANTS everywhere in the bathroom. They were crawling in the sink and the tub, floor, just everywhere. My husband went to the store and again told them we would like the pier lights turned on and told them about the ants. We went out on the boat for several hours and came back to even more ants on the floor and wall beside the bed. He once again went back to the store and asked for something to be done about the ants. We left the next morning without the ants being taken care of or the pier lights being turned on. The trip was NOT what we expected from Roy’s. I don’t know if they have changed management or what. But the establishment has gone downhill severely. We will not be...
Read moreA friend of mine (Paul K.) came down with me and another very good friend of mine and a long time customer of Pam's, Ken Erb met at Roy's Store. We came down that first week of March 2021 when the day before it was 85° and the next day it was 38° and raining. Goes without saying, as always, "You should have been here yesterday!", That cold front gave the majority of the crappie a case of semi-lock jaw. We stayed in the big house, just across from the one boat ramp that's about a mile to the east of Roy's Store. Very nice facility, clean, bug free, well stocked, daily house keeping...will definitely 👍 go...
Read moreI did not like it, and I don't plan to return. The "cabin" was nothing more than a storage shed into which a commode, a shower, and a couple of sinks had been crammed. They had a small tv, but it had been placed right beside two of the bunk beds, and there was absolutely no comfortable way to watch it. The woman in charge, who was RUDE and ILL-MANNERED, made absolutely no effort to make a first-time visitor aware of their housekeeping policies and procedures. However, the other ladies who worked there were very friendly, and I appreciate their efforts to inform me about their mode...
