It was a cold morning but that didn’t stop our outstanding guide Austin from getting us on some amazing Walleye five minutes into our trip! His extensive knowledge and experience in these waters are without question. He got us on some monster Walleye that became the envy of every other boat around! While the other guides were trying to find the fish we were busy ripping lips!

A side note to the Walleye I caught my first Brown trout! A behemoth at 25 inches! Without Austin's help, I wouldn't have been able to land that monstrosity!

Simply wonderful. Look, I've had excellent fishing guides before as I did this past summer in Alaska, but Austin raised the bar. This past weekend he guided a trout fishing trip for myself, my two brothers, and my son. My brother Don is disabled and needed assistance getting in and out of the ice-covered boat and help casting. Austin treated him with dignity and "just one of the guys." In fact, Don caught as many trout alone as the rest of us put together. The smiles on his face will live in our memories forever. It will be the birthday present he will never forget. Except for my son, we're all old and grey-haired.
