Had a great time at Roaring River Hatchery. The hatchery is set up well for trout fishing. The store is nice, friendly staff. Only 2 things that we were a little disappointed with- they have removed the fish cleaning station at the main park area, you have to drive all the way to campsite #3 to clean your fish, inconvenient. Also the size of the fish are way smaller than in years past. I heard some others say they have changed the way the fish hatchery works with other hatcheries, this may or may not have something to do with the size of the fish being caught. Read moreSuper fun. Very clean. Friendly people. Short 0.2mi hike (with lots of uneven, slippery natural stairs and boardwalks) to the overlook. Tons of trout everywhere. You can fish in the stream. Take a bunch of quarters to buy food pellets to feed the fish, too. Check out the top pond with the big retired breeders. We even saw a bald eagle flying around while we were there that landed just off the trail to the overlook....
