Dollar General — Local services in Evening Shade

The Evening Shade Dollar General is a very clean, uncluttered store. Very nice, helpful, friendly employees. The store is set up nice and orderly. The shelves were stocked and faced (meaning items were pulled to the front of the shelves). That always gives a good impression of a store. It makes it look better. There are no cardboard displays set up to get in the way or bump with your shopping cart. It makes a store look very cluttered with these displays. And the displays do not encourage me to purchase the item. So I always give better ratings when a store does not have these. The store is easy to move around in with a shopping cart. The DG store in our hometown of Evening Shade, AR was welcomed with open arms but since that time I am no longer a customer. One bad experience after another as caused me to drive over 10 miles away to shop elsewhere. I have left reviews before but nothing ever changes. On my last visit I mentioned to the DG employee who was standing in the front entrance smoking a cigarette that I would go elsewhere to shop if she was going to smoke at the doorway. The response was OK! And she went on talking on her cell phone and having a good smoke break. I did go elsewhere and that store got $74.31 in business. I may have had to pay more but that...

This dollar general 1st was so dirty. Carts all in the isles where a person couldn't push their own shopping cart down some them isles. There was clutter on the floor in majority of the isles. This is poor management and lazy staff. 😪 no matter what was going on this day there shouldn't have been any excuse for this to be that bad. I was a General Manager of Dollar General for 25 years.
