The Outback meat store is THE BESTđ I LOVE IT THEREâ¤ď¸. EVEYTHING HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING. They are super friendly and so easy to talk to. My concern is the people that want to leave bad, nasty reviews!! If you've ever had any issues, why didnât you go to talk to them?? No, youâd rather bash a very HONEST, HARD WORKING business!! It made me very upset to read some of the bad reviews you people leave. If you have to leave such nasty, bad reviews, you must be a miserable person that no matter what someone does to make it right, youâre never happy. So let me tell you, if youâve never owned a business, you have NO IDEA the HOURS and HARD WORK that go into making the business successful. And just to clear a few things up I read, itâs not the processor that makes the beef dry or fatty, its the way it was raised and what it was fed that makes the beef taste a certain way, but you apparently donât get that?! And a buffalo is NOT A COW! So donât expect the same cuts of meat as youâd get from a cow. Know their terminology and stop accusing!! And do you realize that bones and other unuseable organs can weigh a lot, so youâre not going to get the same weight in meat back as what the animal weighed! Itâs common sense. And try being a nicer person, because what you give is what you get back and I know that these people who own Outback are WONDERFUL, GIVING people. So to the people who read these bad reviews, take it with a grain of salt and go check them out for yourselves. I LOVE...
Read moreSo my neighbor said his son-in-law buys all his meat here and me, looking for those special little mom and pop type stores and wanting to buy locally (I urge all of us to avoid the big national stores when feasible) I gave it a look.
So....way out on the west side of Germania Road btwn Arglye and Cass City Road sits the new but rustic looking Outback meat and retail grocery store. It started life as a local deer processing joint but now apparently processes beef, pork, etc. Not a very big place but meat, cheese, seafood ( I saw crab legs, swordfish, lobster) and other odds and ends were plentiful. My wife got all excited about purple popcorn.
I can't speak to quality yet as I haven't cooked any meat but I bought some 5 year extra sharp cheddar by Jim which was a bit pricey but outstanding flavor.
This is a great destination in the middle of nowhere. Someday when you want to get out of Caro, Cass City, Sandusky, or New York...just go for a ride. You'll find something to buy I'm sure. It's fun shopping.
For you meat eaters....I noted steaks and chops were cut at different thickness. Porterhouse in 1 inch or 1.5 inch as an example and that's a nice touch unavailable at Walmart, Meijers, or even Country View Foods which is a bit further South on Germania. I know lots of us like Country View and drive a long way to shop there. Add Outback to your adventure as long as you're over there. SUPPORT YOUR NEIGHBORS. It's more important now than ever before to keep our money...
Read moreDONT TAKE YOUR COWS TO. "OUTBACK CUSTOM MEATS IN SNOVER!!!!!!". THIS PLACE IS NOTED FOR TAKING MEAT!! LOTS OF BAD REVIEWS ON THIS. THEY HAVE A CUTE COUNTRY STORE WITH AN ENTIRE WALL OF FREEZERS FULL OF MEAT FOR SALE. WHICH IN REVIEWS IS ALL THE RAGE. BUT THEY'RE FILLING IT WITH MEAT FROM THEIR BEEF CUSTOMERS!!! We buy a quarter every year and this is the first year our beef was taken here. The quarter was 17# lighter than last year. 5% less. I picked up the beef and immediately knew it was short so with no paperwork from them I weighed everything and compared it to prior years. I am an inch short on tbone and porterhouse while sirloin was over 5# more. Junk steak for my premium steaks. My roasts were 10# light and my burger was 20# light while my stew meat, short ribs and brisket was way over. Junk meat for premium meat!!! I've talked to others that this just happened to. When I called to find out why the lady said "IT IS WHAT IT IS". SO THE NEXT TIME YOU GO THERE AND BUY MEAT FROM THEIR COUNTRY STORE JUST THINK OF THE PEOPLE WHO PAID THE FARMER FOR THAT MEAT AND PAID THEM TO PROCESS IT AND GOT JUNK MEAT INSTEAD OF THAT STEAK,ROAST AND BURGER YOU'RE EATING!!! THEY...
