Exeter Community Thrift Shop — Local services in Exeter

We have had great experiences donating to this store in the past and it is a local gem. The owners and young lady working there have always been wonderful. However today we went by with a couple of donation boxes and the woman there (older blonde lady) came out and was rude and condescending. "Can't you read the sign"..."No donations today". When we politely responded that we had thought that there donations today....she again firmly said "can't you see the sign!!!". Weird interaction and certainly not friendly or professional. While we love the shop, today's experience was not positive whatsoever.

The response from the Owners was wonderful and I'm sure our experience yesterday was just someone having a bad day. We will continue to support this store, and we have much respect for the owners and their staff with that...

This place is amazing! I always find something great to take home (that might not always be a good thing...lol) whether I remembered I was looking for it or not. The staff is really friendly. I know some people might not like that the clothing isn’t individually priced, but it’s actually very easy once you understand that shirts cost $x, pants cost $y, etc. Hard cover books are all the same price and the soft cover another. Amazing deals for books, bikes, toys and furniture! Always ask if you have a question- if that person doesn’t know they can ask one of the owners, as one of them is normally there. Laura, the main owner, is fantastic! They don’t overcharge and are sensitive to those of us in Exeter that don’t live in fancy mansions. I donate here regularly because of all the help they offer...

They have rearranged the store! I love the way they set it up, register is on the left as soon as you walk in the door. Opens the whole room up, makes the room look so much bigger! I love going there. Everyone that works there is really nice and very helpful! 8/27/18- Went there again a few weeks ago and they have changed it again. Register is now on the right as u walk in the door! They are just trying to see what works the best for their needs. They use the toy room as their back room now. Toy room is out back. I like it, but I do miss that little toy room. It's a awesome store and everybody that works...
