This is a small grocery in Fabens, Texas. Fabens is a small border town. The grocery is more expensive and has less widely known products than your big box stores, but the tortillas are fresh and made on site. The pasteles and conchas are fresh and delicious! The bakery has many different kinds of pan dulce and all have been fresh, soft and tasty! The produce department is not the largest or freshest, but it is there. The meat department is small, but there's something for everyone. This place carries the brands that many Hispanic families know and love and you wouldn't find at Walmart fifty miles away. I can typically find what I need in less than 10 mins but to check out takes 20 to 30 mins minimum. Never come here between the hours of 3:00 PM to 7: 00 PM. If you have no other choice plan to be here...

The cuts of meat are fairly priced with a good quality, and at $7.99 a pound for Barbacoa, I've seen the same for $3.00 more at one grocery in El Paso. There is a decent variety of vegetables and fruit, dairy, fish and meat along with a prepared selection of ready to eat meat or hot burritos or chicken or tamales, depending on the day. Homemade tortillas and pastries as well as many things you'd find in a larger chain store. Folks here are also polite...
