SUMMARY: Very reasonable price, $10/$12, and bucket size for the NOVA area. This is a basic range with 1/3 of the stalls covered and is never crowded. Mats are old and could use an update.
PROS:
PRICE - $12 for a large bucket (102 balls), $10 for a small bucket (51 balls); Seniors get a discount to $10 for a large bucket; buy 10 buckets get 2 free
POPULARITY - Its never packed.
FACILITY - 1/3 of the stalls are protected with a roof. There are large trees on either side of the range - which also offers shade.
RANGE - 300 yards length. Flags are also marked in each bay with signage to show intermediate yardage.
CONS:
FACILITY - Mats are kind of old and some are missing rubber tees. Missing rubber tees isn't great, but the mats being a little old aren't that big of a deal.
BASIC RANGE - This could be a pro or neither a pro nor a con, but there aren't many "additional" features to this range. Great place if all you want to do is practice your swing and hit some balls, without all of the comfort and technology some of the more up to date ranges have.
Also nice that the employees are respectful...
Read moreI’m not from VA and recently went to this place twice during my visit. First time, the owner’s son (I think) was there, very quiet and not welcoming, but it’s all good I just need some stuff for my practice. bought a pair of gloves, 1 large bucket, took 3 clubs from the borrow clubs section there. Later on my way to return the clubs after my bucket, walked in to the pro shop and encountered someone who I assume is the owner. He gave me dirty look with the borrowed clubs on my hand and didn’t respond to me when I said hi. The next day, I came back for another large bucket. When I was browsing the old clubs to pick out what fits my hands, the owner approached and looked at me like I was gonna steal the clubs, got mad and said 2 clubs only… Apparently, he also yelled at other people therefor random reasons. I wouldn’t want to come back here unless you are okay to be treated...
Read moreWow cheap, quiet, and peaceful. Was golfing under the lights with the tree frogs chirping. Great way to relax. Lately I've been going to topgolf where there is always a 45 min wait and each ball you hit is 50¢. This place had a large bucket 102 balls for $12 and small bucket 50 balls for $7. There was about 7 golfers out there on a Monday night and probably 30 to 40 bays. I'd recommend it if you are really trying to practice your swing. And I was skeptical at first because their lighting system didn't appear all that great but actually the way it is highlights your ball as it soars out...
