Hi folks. First I wanted to thank your service department for the fantastic job they did when they installed 600 wats of solar and lithium batteries on our 2005 Airstream coach. The technicians were great and were very professional. Your Service advisor Chris was great and went all professional plus I was treated with respect which was unusual for most dealerships I've been to.
Unfortunately recently i was extremely disappointed the way I was retreated while bringing in the coach for a different service. I'm not going to mention the service person or persons names. I will let you figure it out on your own. My purpose here is not to bash employees personally but the company needs to be cognoscente of these situations which either intentionally or unintentionally happen.
I had a problem with the soft vinyl ceiling so I called and made an appointment. Unfortunately the service tech preferred to go through texting. Well we drove all the way from Minden Nevada driving both the Motorhome and the car 3-4 hours one way. When we arrived immediately we were told that we cant repair it. I know it was likely my fault for not checking the text. However for something as important as this would be much more prudent for a simple phone call and at least some sort of message and a suggestion of what to do. None of that was done. I was handed off to I think a service manager when I stated well this was a wasted trip. It was like we were being punished for not following their protocol of communication. Well excuse me, I am the customer (the customer is always right). let me tell you something, I am in business and you don't treat customers like that, you search for a solution.
Here's the deal folks, my wife and I were considering purchasing a B class motorhome and look at the model we were considering. A little help from your dealership would have made a huge difference in our decision to purchase as 24x 4x4 for our retirement travels. Understand. I'm a cool customer and make decisions on our relationship and how we are treated with respect. After that incident I told my wife were done. So we drove all the way back to Minden, needless to say, pissed off.
Now for the good part. I did some research and tried calling several airstream repair companies with some decent reputations. They all told me the same thing. We cant do repairs on airstreams older that 2010. Well I learned a real valuable lesson here. If airstream is bragging most airstreams are still on the road today why would i buy one where you cant get parts or find someone to repair it. Doesn't make sense.
Compare and contrast Airstream with John Deere tractors. John Deere tractors you can still get parts even models 40 plus years. Why, because farmers use these tractors until they are to be hauled off to the dump. See what I mean here. If airstream is so long lived why isn't this the case.
I can't justify giving you a decent rating because that incident how it was handled was crucial.
If you truly care about my situation, what will be your answer. Will it be exactly what I am thinking or is your cutting edge answer better than the standard hap hazard answer. ...
Read moreOne of the better sales and service experiences I have had. Everyone at Bay Area Airstream is extremely focused on customer service. The receptionist when you walk in is very helpful and always offers water or coffee. In the sales department, I had the pleasure of working with Henry who was no pressure and very knowledgeable about the product and answered all my questions. He took the time to show me the differences in the array of models that Airstream offers. I also believe their pricing is fair and accurate, the sales manager took the time to be transparent with the pricing, and it was clear they wanted to offer a fair price for me and a reasonable profit for the dealership. When it came to the paperwork, Bobby was amazing. He was efficient and clear on all the paperwork and even had it brought to me at work to sign. This dealership makes great use of the customers time, and works to ensure you are satisfied from a purchase perspective.
I also want to highly recommend their service department. I had a few items that needed adjusted after purchase and they made it happen. From Jess who helped me get in quickly, to Bob who explained all that was going on, and Cedric was the one to get things done and did so with a smile. To note, they have the service techs deliver your trailer so they are very knowledgeable about all the technical pieces of the trailer. Cedric delivered my trailer and answered all my questions and even took some calls after I took delivery about some of the questions I had regarding some of the functions on the trailer. JOB WELL DONE TO THE ENTIRE DEALERSHIP. It takes a lot to keep things running this smoothly and it is clear this team knows how to get it...
Read more5 stars for the service team, 1 stars for the sales team. I have been an airstream owner for 4 years. The service team has been awesome and excellent. I would use them again without question.
I arrived today after calling several times and with an appointment for an appraisal on my trailer. I was given an appraisal and an explanation regarding “corrosion” all over my trailer and completely on the under belly. They shared that typically my unit would trade for this amount and that it would take almost $20,000 to recondition my 4 yr old trailer to be resold. I asked them to please show me the corrosion that I was very unaware of. They would NOT. They showed me where to find it on a show room model even though my trailer was right outside the door. Because the trade was so remarkably low there was no way I could trade it in and that I now felt I had to fix the issue.
I immediately spoke with the service department to see if they could help me “find” the corrosion. I was ready to dump a ton of cash into fixing the trailer we love and enjoy. Our purpose to trade is for a smaller unit. The service team was on the ground and under my trailer trying to find the issue. They could not.
I really would have appreciated the customer service first off just saying they weren’t interested in my trailer. I left my home today at 8 am and it is now 7:30pm. It is always a long day to travel to Fairfield to the Bay Area Airstream.
I left today feeling that I could not trust them. It is huge money getting into the airstream world. TRUST is huge to a customer. Especially when looking for an all American product. I do not trust the sales team and cannot recommend this branch under the...
