Quail Creek Golf Course — Local services in Fairhope

Debra and I decided to play a round of golf on Friday. I had called the day before to set up the tee time. I had originally booked for 1 o’clock, but then got to thinking about it that we do play slow so I called back Friday morning and asked to move that to 3 PM. The gentleman I talked to was appreciative that I had cold, recognizing that we play a bit slow, and was happy to move us to 3 PM. Upon arrival, we went to the pro shop and checked in, realized that they have both 18 hole and a nine hole rates. Debra typically plays nine holes, and I like to play 18, they were kind enough to charge us appropriately.! We were pleased, and headed out to Hole #1. The greens were in great shape, the fairways were in really good shape, occasionally the tea boxes had a little bit of a challenge. Overall, I thought the course was in great shape. Played this course for years and loved it, was one of my favorites. However, in recent times since Bobby Hall retired, course has went down. The course use to be in tip top condition, not so any more. Grass is so high in fairway it's like the rough and if you miss fairway there is only heavy rough no different levels (short, medium, then taller heavy rough). Also, new signs have been installed prohibiting golfer to go in carts, up to 100 yards out, to greens( grass is usually so high, what does it matter). Of course with new signs requires, course marshall following everybody around fussing at players if they go past one these signs. No thanks!! No plans...

This used to be a decent course especially for the price.. haven't played in a while and when we went out to play a couple of weeks ago not only have they raised the prices the course was a travesty.. I don't understand how they can charge green fees when there are no greens.. Bobby Hall and his entire staff should feel ashamed for letting that course get in such bad shape and charging people to play..it'll be at least 2 years before that course is healthy enough to play if they start the process right now.. still have a good practice facility.. but I won't be playing out there till that course...
