Dollar General — Local services in Fairmount

This Dollar General store used to be a clean, reliable option for quick grocery needs like food and milk. Unfortunately, it has declined significantly over the past year. There’s consistently only one employee working during the busiest times, leaving inventory piled in the aisles and employees visibly overwhelmed.

The situation has reached an unacceptable point, with food being left out to spoil because shipments aren’t getting put away in time. For example, I recently purchased Nathan’s Hot Dogs from this location. The packaging appeared fine, but when I got home and opened them, the hot dogs were green on the inside—a clear sign of spoilage.

I’m not sure if this decline is due to a change in management or corporate policies, but this store is a vital resource for many people in this community, especially those on the mountain. Please take action to restore the standards that this location...

Ok place to shop for basic household items and groceries. It's the only store on Signal Mnt. where you can shop for food and household items so we are thankful for that but it does stay pretty busy and it gets crowded quickly because it's not a very big store ! It's normally stocked pretty well and most of the items are reasonably affordable. They have one self check out line and two registers. The staff are friendly...

Great for quick trips when I don't want to go all the way to Walmart. Great price on milk and bread or dog food. They carry a lot of the same brands as Walmart and at comparable prices. So if you run out of something before it's time to go to Wal-Mart for your weekly or monthly supplies, check out the Dollar General store. I'm sure they have something that will...
