Love this place, but do yourself a favor and shop thier non plant items elsewhere. Paid $92 cash for a 40lb bag of Fertilome Weed and Feed. The same exact bag, not on sale, at ACE is $54! Even cheaper at the big boxes. I felt like I had been robbed. What a rip off. Next time, I’ll drive two miles down the road when shopping for something other than plants.

Really great prices and selection on indoor and outdoor plants and Terra cotta pots, so worth the drive up! Everything I've bought here has been healthy and thriving. Fairly frequent restocks, friendly staff, adorable gift shop.

Can a plant nursery be "delightful"? ....I think Signal Mountain Nursery can be called delightful šŸ˜€ SO many different kinds of plants! You want it? .. they have it!! Go there and enjoy!.. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

I don't know how it took me so long to go to this nursery, but my wallet is happy I did not find it earlier.

Having said that, the prices of most plants were so much lower than other (unmentioned) nurseries in chattanooga. On top of that, every plant was so healthy, full, and lush.

The customer service was beyond helpful. I love this place. I want a second job there just so I can pay for all my plants I now have to buy there.

Edit: I still love this place, but now for a new reason. I've largely purchased outdoor plants from them previously and I've stumbled upon the joy that is their houseplant section in February, when other nurseries in the area do not even compare to having a fraction of their options.

They grow nearly all their own plants on site and its so evident. The health of their plants is crazy beautiful and, to get really dirt nerdy, the soil mixes they use varies by plant. My gorgeous hoya compacta was planted in tiny orchid bark. My peperomias in denser soil. My gasteria in a different succulent mix.... okay. You get the point.

I'm so glad they are up on signal mountain and that I hate driving up the steep switchbacks because otherwise...

Our family has shopped at Signal Mountain Nursery (SMN) for many years. We love the unique variety of plants and their gift shop. The Poinsettias at Christmas are one of our favorites.

When we decided to relandscape our yard, it was only natural that we would want to use SMN. However, we were very disappointed with their landscape design service. We had requested they pay particular attention to low maintenance plants for a senior living concept. What was delivered was the opposite showing high maintenance plants. Upon review of the information received, it was also clear the quantity of plants shown in one area would not have fit in the area indicated.

We then hired another landscape design service who designed exactly what was needed. SMN lost out on a very significant contract.

We are writing this review to let others know what happened to us so others will not experience it. If we knew then what we know now, we would have asked more questions and not accepted their landscape design service at the same face value as the rest of their company. We mistakenly thought the landscape design service would provide the same level of quality as the other...

This is a beautiful nursery, so pretty to walk through and a feast for the eyes. I’m sad to leave a less than positive review, however. Very shortly after buying a lovely Bonsai tree ($80)for my son’s birthday this summer, it developed a mealy bug infestation. At the first sign of the little cotton wisps my son took it into the store to gain their advice how to manage. They advised him to buy a product for about $20 and then for the past two months we’ve tended to the tree using the product and following all instructions meticulously, unfortunately to no avail. The little tree has now died and the nursery staff politely told me today that they couldn’t offer any credit towards another tree. I had hoped perhaps they would be willing to sell me a discounted tree at cost, or anything really, but they told me they could do nothing. So...
