I was lucky to have met (more of an honor) this very sweet elderly lady while picking up strawberries, I'm not sure if she worked there or was shopping herself( I assumed she worked there at the time). She asked if I had any recipes that I was going to you use the strawberries in and I told her no I didn't that I don't know any recipes and she said sweetie let me give you one of my granny's recipes She says you take four cups of strawberries chopped up put one cup of sugar and then put them in a jar put them in the refrigerator overnight the next morning you go ahead and you pour that jar into a saucepan with 1/4 cup of lemon juice or lime juice whatever you have on hand and you simmer that down stirring every once in awhile until it starts to get thicker when it gets thicker you stir more often that will make the best jelly you have ever had I go home I make it She was exactly right I will never buy store jelly again She also tells me to preserve my strawberries for to slice them or just slice the tops off put them in a jar with a 1/4 cup of sugar and they will stay like that in your refrigerator for 2 weeks to 4 weeks or I could freeze them I learned so much from that woman and I appreciate her teaching me the recipes I wish I knew her name I wish I could thank her in person and I will be visiting again very soon hopefully she's there..
