I've been doing business with Ahlmans for years. All my gunsmithing, porting, and muzzle brakes have been done by them. I can now say never again. I took a rifle to have a brake made and while there I purchased a new shotgun. I also left the shotgun to get ported. I get a voicemail from Keith in less then a week saying it's done. Saturday I venture the 2 hours down to pick it up only to be told the gentleman at the counter he can't find it and there's no way it's done. He gives me my ticket back and won't even look for it. I try to play the voicemail and no one wants to listen. I'm even told by another guy that Keith doesn't call a porting and repairs. I finally get the gentleman involved that I purchased the gun from. He at least looked for the gun why everyone just looked at us like we were the problem. They finally find the gun and it's done. I was told the check out process wasn't done correctly. I don't care that they couldn't find it, or that a couple of them were very rude. We all make mistakes. When you make mistake you own it! Not one person apologized, not a damn we screwed up. They all treated us like we were in the wrong for driving 2 hours to pick up a gun they said was done. There was a very simple solution to fix there mistake, but not anymore. Thanks for the work you've done in the PAST. By the way I had 3 other people with that wanted work done in the future. UPDATE- Keith called me and apologized for everything that happened. Was very nice to have someone admit they messed up as a business....
Read moreIt is hit or miss in my experience. I waited 20 minutes at the gunsmith counter and was the only customer in the store far as I could tell. (Im patient) Almost walked out until the lady on the phone finally put her food away and asked if I was being helped. Again at the gun counter waiting. Staff walking around back and forth. No one at the gun counter. One would assume one would have people at the gun counter in a gun store. I have found you have to be assertive to get helped there. On the other hand if you are lucky and get helped before you walk out the staff is is curteous enough. I felt the pricing Is a bit high in general but there are deals to be found. As far as follow up goes my friend was delayed and they never called him back. He called after the waiting period and was told he had to wait an additional 3 days. ?????? He can be a dick sometimes though..... I was delayed for the first time on my last purchase there. They never called. Went and picked up after the wait time. There is skeet shooting in the back. Nice facilities. I don't know if its related but what a "blast". Bring your favorite shotgun and some ammo and do a couple rounds. No one is gonna hold your hand in Ahlmanland. Be assertive in what your goals are there and it will be a...

We saw a pamphlet at our hotel showing this huge row of guns and talking up the Wild West themed range so we took half a day out of our trip to Minneapolis from Alabama to go have a look. Maybe this place was cool like 30 years ago - it’s very run down and dingy outside. Looks like it used to be Chucky Cheese meets a gun store but it hasn’t been maintained, repaired or at least cleaned up since the 90s. I don’t think any casing have been picked up off the pistol range this year. The inside was much nicer and had quite a few guns - but the photo on the pamphlet of the giant row of guns ended up being a trick due to mirrors. Many racks and slots were empty or had fluff/filler. My fiancé picked up many rifles and shotguns to look at and found lots of loose stocks and clunky actions. We did buy a used vintage leather gun storage sleeve from the discount section that was quite nice. A small room of parts for mostly obscure guns included a few non working wall art guns. The guy behind the counter was friendly without being pushy. We did not use the ranges but they...
