ODNR Grand River Target Range — Local services in Farmington Township

The old man who works there, was extremely rude. Me and my family walked up with our day permits while it was raining and 35 degrees outside, he made us stand outside unroll the rest of our CCW class got there even though we showed up a half hour early to shoot early. We asked if we could at least stand under the roof to stay out of the rain, he said NO! Stand back behind the fence. Then I grabbed a pencil off the front desk to sign my permit and he screamed at me and pushed me out of the way saying he will call the cops on me if I don’t listen to him and get behind the fence... there are many more small details to this that he completely offended me and my family. EDIT: This place is boring. Perfect spot to sight your rifle in, but thatst about it. I can't have my gun holstered on my hip, it's against the rules. They don't want to mess up the grass, so you can't move the target closer than the berm, it's against the rules. You can't use anything but straight walled rounds at the 25 yard spot, IT'S AGAINST THE RULES. Look. I'm ALL for safety... But if I can't open carry at a gun range, but I can at Walmart... Simply the best 100 yard range for outside target shooting. Clean and professional staff always there to assist and they supply you with all necessities needed to enjoy your time at the range. Can’t comment on 50 yards as I never use it or have a need for however their 25 yards is great for rimfire and pistol shooting. Would be nice to have an option of utilizing the 25 yard range for shorter distances such as 10, 15, 20 etc, but I can always go to the indoor range for my tactical and self-defense practice grills.
