I was excited about joining the YMCA until I learned that my 11 year did not have a supervised area to attend. The website and commercials promise free babysitting while you work out. My son who is Autistic is unable to just sit there while I work out. I don't know any 10/11 year olds who actually want to work out. This facility should really have a teen zone. I had to cancel my membership because they are unwilling to accommodate. The executive director made the suggestion that I let my 16 year niece who came with me to work out, watch my son. I gave only 4 because they only have 2 of exercise bikes i prefer, the tv in front of bike i use has been broken for weeks, I wish theyd post a sign asking people not to sit idly on machines while they use their phone or chat with friends, i was given price and info on my grandchildren coming to swim when in town and policy was changed within a week of them coming denying admission on a weekend.
