We did not seem very welcomed right from the start. Staff lacks the experience to be wait staff. Barely could run the register. Ask for something and they don’t know what they are doing. Originally wanted a can of Coke. A can, they wanted $4.00. $1.50 sure, $2 maybe, $3 absurd and $4 is flat out ripping people off. I instead asked for water and we had to buy water, bottled. So I asked for three, they charged me then once we got the waters said I only paid for one…. $4.00 was my total so I don’t understand what happened there. So, had to pay for yet another two more bottles of water. It’s more of a food to go I guess not a restaurant, I ate my meal with out a plate because they would not bring out some. Food is good but ordered Queso and it came out in the smallest bowl ever. Not a restaurant and a super expensive grocery. Avacado was $3.00… $3.00! Had to buy chips out of a bag to eat our Queso… just as I said, they are not a restaurant, maybe to go only. And be very specific with what you want as the servers/cashiers don’t seem to know what they are doing. I don’t know who owns this place but El Matador’s down the street has really gone down hill and this place has opportunity here to capitalize. Very clear difference in the Fajitas here versus down the street and that was about the only positive I had about this place. Probably just a really bad misunderstood first experience? Someone told us to eat here and it’s not a restaurant more of a grocery who makes some food. Food tasted great, just experienced a service gap and really expensive...
Read moreSo everyone's been raving about this place when my wife found it on Google. Being a New Mexican in Arkansas and a foodie,I was pumped when I heard about this place, and decided to go. The service was great, and the store has a very good selection of dried or fresh chilies. There were several items in the store that I'll definitely be back for. THE FOOD: I was a little heartbroken when I found out they do not make their own tortillas. It's all about the Masa! I had two Al Pastor Tacos, one ¿Guisado? Taco, one Barbacoa Taco, and one Quesabirria with Consomme. My wife had two Chicken Green Chile Tamales, and two Carne Asada Tacos. Unfortunately, the Tamales were dry, and the Tacos were average. I REALLY enjoyed the Consomme, but sadly that was the best part of the meal. My wife and I will always choose local over chain any day of the week, and hope this was just a fluke. I'll give it another try in the near future just in...
Read moreI just tried this place with my sister. It was DELICIOUS!! I had a tamale verde, it was amazing. Not too much maza and not too little meat. It was fresh, moist, a little spicy and soooo good. I ended up buying 1/2 doz to go. I also had a burrito which was so flavorful. I really enjoyed their green salsa. The owners/workers were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. I love a mexican restaurant that doesn't dry out their meat. It was tender, tasty and well cooked. I will definitely be back. The place is on Wedington but past where my GPS said it was. My sister's GPS also didn't get us there. We kept trying and I'm...
