Received a $1,200 bill in the mail and 2 weeks to pay or water will be disconnected...... I knew this was either a scam or a mistake on Fayette County Water's part because my account is automatically deducted from my bank account each month. I called and was berated by a "Customer Service" person, saying that I should call around to donation centers and ask for money to pay my $1,200 bill. I explained to her that this is clearly a mistake. She explained that Fayette County Water was neglectful in running a report for 14 months and that was the reason I received a $1,200 bill. I received a call from a different "Customer Service" lady telling me that they accidentally had the monies I already paid in that figure and I also should receive a discount for usage. At this point, I realize how incompetently Fayette County Water is operating. I asked to speak with a Manager, they said she wasn't feeling well and should call me when she can. I've been dealing with this for over a month, nothing has been resolved. The "Customer Service" Manager called me yesterday, I answered my phone and she said, "Ooopps, I am sorry, I have the wrong number". Fayette County Water, you must do better. I am currently reaching out to the Fayette County Water System Board Members including Vanessa Tigert (Director), Steve Rapson ( County Administrator) and William Yarde to share my experience and in hopes they are aware of the disrespect coming from their department. Each time we got a phone call and an email around the same time, it was payment past due and a warning of service would be shut off. We requested paper statement or email notice each time we talked to the clerk. She only emailed us the first statement. That was it. We had to pay for county and city late fees. We have never signed up fir electronic billing statements. But she insisted that our linked email MIGHT have spammed it. She told me to send an email request to switch to paper statement, which we just did yesterday. But who put us to electronic billing and does not email any statement nor payment notice? Since we were always late in payment, we had to make payment by phone or online to get it done asap, the processing fee is another $3.75. We signed up auto pay a month ago. Problem had to be with a pressure reduction valve in my house - call a plumber. Did a walk around my house, saw no reason for the low pressure. Walked down the street and three houses down my neighbors are standing in front of what looks like an very large water main leak. These people must hate their job because they are not...
