This was the second time I have stayed at New River Gorge Cabins, the first time in Country Roads and this time in Adventurer's Lodge, and I will definitely be back. The cabins are clean, they have lots of separation so you cant really hear your neighbors (5 total cabins), they are well stocked, and are probably the best value in the Fayetteville/Summersville area. The pictures here are of Adventurers Lodge. The cabin has two bedrooms plus a open loft area with two more full or queen size beds, a full kitchen, and one bathroom with a shower about the size of a normal tub. As previously mentioned the entire cabin was well stocked. The kitchen had a wide assortment of pots, pans, dinnerware, glasses, and most other items you would need. They also included hand soap, dish soap, dish sponge, and dish towels. Something that other places I have been did not include. The bathroom had more than enough towels and wash clothes, approximately 8 of each I think. The fireplace included a lighter and two firestarters. The bed was comfortable and included 4 pillows to choose from, we found an extra blanket in one of the bedrooms as well. The alarm clocks in each bedroom have a USB port for charging your electronics as well. The only issue that you need to watch out for is that almost all the outlets are set back inside thick wall plates and many cellphone chargers will not fit. An extension cord or power strip may be needed. There were a couple minor issues that we noticed: some of the rooms were a little dark, the bulbs just weren't bright enough; the shower head is a little low personally; and the firewood for sale on site was a bit damp which caused it to smolder and hiss instead of burning nicely.

Well maintained and comfortable cabins close to many of New River Gorge's top destinations, yet remote enough to be quiet and restful.

A lovely stay! We got a cabin here because we were doing activities in the national park. The proximity to both the park and Fayetteville was nice (just a few minutes by car). The stove in our cabin was pretty old and there’s no dishwasher or garbage disposal. But everything worked fine and it was clean and very well stocked with soap, towels, toilet paper, etc. We didn’t have to bring any household supplies which was nice. The cabins here are also well spaced apart which we loved. We had a fire pit and hot tub and it was just a very nice relaxing place to come back to after a day of hiking and rafting. Definitely recommend this place for those who want a bit more privacy than what’s offered by other similar places.

We also really appreciated the clear and detailed instructions that were provided.

Be forewarned that the internet is not great in this area; it worked but went out frequently. This is the nature of being in a very rural area!

Overall it was a great stay and we will definitely come back here on...

To save you the effort of looking: cabins look fantastic but the hosts are scammers. 2 night minimum (annoying but justifiable), starting at $185 per night on the weekend for an 8 person cabin. Oh wait, that's for 2 people (for an eight person cabin..?) There is an additional $30, per person, per night (remember, 2 night minimum) up to 8 people. (So if you rent an 8-person cabin for 8 people, you'll be spending $545 base rate on the weekend, PER NIGHT. Minimum of $1090, before taxes and the like.) If you have six 3 year olds with you, it would only cost $185, though, so that's a plus.

Again, cabins look cute but definitely overpriced in a...
