DO NOT BOOK YOUR PARTY HERE! Only reason I gibe it one star is because I have to and you get to skate. I was invited to my nieces b-day and at first everything was good. After 1 hour of skating they handed out pizzas. Cake followed right after. Which they just wanted to cut the cake on the counter???? And not on table but we insisted it to be in the eating area. Kids were ready to go back to skate but we asked if that could be done closer to the end but a lady said they would like to go ahead and cut it and whoever wanted some could get some. They have skate trainers and it's only for 7 and under!!! There was an 8 yr old girl on one of them and instead of calling her over or asked who was the parent they announced her over the intercom. It was pretty embarrassing! Well what if that child doesn't know how to skate? Party still had 10 min left and they were already saying people could continue to skate but everything party related had to be taken out to the car! In a very bad tone by the way. Didn't even say please. A guest went to ask for a drink (2 drinks only per person) and instead of saying it was just 2 drinks per person. She asked how drinks have you had because I just can't be handing them out like that. That is so unprofessional! Also there was a parent who had a drink in their hand standing up within the area of where food could be and one lady made him sit down to drink it!!! Are you serious?? The place isn't the best . Bathrooms don't have locks on the doors, girls floor isn't even safe . It's uneven. Water fountain looks rusty. And oh the few arcade games that were there kept messing up. Even though it was beeezy outside. They NEVER turned on AC until it was opened to the public!! NEVER EVER GOING THERE AGAIN! I'd rather travel farther just to get...
Read moreHow many great things can I tell you about Star Wheels and the new management?!
I’m originally from the Fayetteville area, but have since become a resident of Huntsville. I went to Star Wheels only a handful of times as a kid, and really felt indifferent about the place when we moved away. Fast forward to the beginning of 2024, my daughter expressed an interested in learning to roller skate, so we signed up for the Winter Skate School series that was being offer by Star Wheels. There wasn’t anything like this (to my knowledge) in the Huntsville area, so I decided to sign my 7 year old daughter and myself up so we could learn to skate. We drive 45 minutes (at least once a week) to come to Star Wheels, and we will continue to do so for as long as we can skate!
We have had nothing but wonderful experiences here. Not only did my daughter and I learn how to skate, but my whole family has since taken up skating too. My dad learned to skate again after nearly 50 years. My brother’s family has enjoyed the skating rink, as well as my mom, in laws, and my husband! The whole family loves Star Wheels!
The management creates a safe, friendly, and welcoming learning (and fun of course) environment for kids and adults too! Summer & Dennis have put a lot of hard work into reviving the skating rink, and it really shows! I cannot recommend this place enough! I tell everyone I know to check it out, and if they don’t know how to skate then to register for their skate school program. I’m so happy that Fayetteville has this gem — what a great asset to the community and surrounding areas!! It’s a great place...
Read moreProbably wouldn't go if you have small children. I was told to go pay for skates to walk my little one on the floor. She had never skated before and I was holding her hand. I had paid for 6 pairs of skates and one of my kids chose not to skate, so I still had a pair I could use. I had already handed in the rental tickets, stupidly. So I grabbed a pair that were on the counter, because it was not manned. A lady came from the back and accused me of stealing the skates, saying "you can't just skate for free" and "that's not okay". I attempted to explain the situation, but she kept repeating the above statements and telling me I can pay for skates. I decided to just leave because I was humiliated. As we were returning the skates, I said we were leaving because we had only gotten 5 pairs of skates instead of 6. She happened to be manning the rental booth, and heard me, then said "Well that's not what you said." But I was not given the opportunity to explain, just called a thief. She then said she was running a business, and to see her perspective. The place was packed, their business seemingly booms, so I fail to see how my holding my child's hand while she attempts to skate would run their business into the ground, but I guess it was worth...
