My wife and I had a great time attending AG Progress Days this year. I strongly advise downloading the program from a website before you go and familiarize yourself with what you want to see. There are little presentations that happened throughout each of the 3 days and there are numerous exhibitors. When you look at the program and you see a map of the venue, you'll see streets identified. Don't be fooled, this entire venue is large field that is subdivided into presentation spaces. There are vendors and presentations for all types of interests and multiple age groups, from child to teen adult. Obviously, there are a lot of equipment displays. I think the thing to take away is that there's something to be learned by everybody. Come prepared to walk! Some people did bring their motorized carts, but there are no full size vehicles allowed to traverse the streets.
My specific takeaways included learning about native plants and trees, the bee exhibits, and other conservation efforts. But if you're more interested in the scientific side, there's an entire tent dedicated to the science behind crops and animal husbandry.
If you don't make it this year,...
Read moreThis is an awesome place to go if you have any interest in agriculture at all. They have plenty of free parking and a lot of port-a-potties around for the patrons. No need for a tram here because all of that free parking is not that far from all the action. They have a nice collection and variation of food stands so you will never go hungry or thirsty. There are a lot of tractor displays showing off the various manufacturers and their models and you can crawl right up and look into the cab to get an idea how the controls look. There are various activities, including a corn maze, for the adults and kids a like. I strongly recommend coming to Pennsylvania's largest outdoor Ag expo. Plenty for adults and children alike to keep...
Read moreFantastic event. Lots of great food. Family fun. It is for sure the place to come to see a comprehensive collection of the latest farm equipment including an electric self guided spray drone that can spray 30 acres per hour on average. This year (2022) they had an actual demo of this impressive machine. The only USA fully electric production utility tractor was available to see and to buy. Lots of good seminars and information too. The grilled cheese sandwich at the dairy food tent was heavenly good in its simplicity. I heard the honey icecream, sold at another booth, was very good too. The cattlemen's ribeye sandwich is also a must. To many things to try in...
