Ferguson Community Center — Local services in Ferguson

Beware when renting a room at the community center. It would be a good idea to check the room out ahead of time. On the day of our event there was a puddle of water on the floor due to a leak in the ceiling. Instead of accommodating us and moving to a different room, the solution was to put a trash can on the floor to catch the water. This was a tacky look for our guests. On top of this the room was filthy. They charge by the hour to set up in addition to the price of the room but you are using a portion of the time to wiping the tables chairs and counter tops down. Also, when it was time to receive the deposit after waiting a over 2-3 weeks (which was the time told to me to allow for the deposit to be refunded back to my checking account) they decided to inform me that due to it being over 30-days from the the time of making the deposit they are having issues with the bank with refunding the money and that a check would be issue to me through the financial department at the city hall. I was told to contact city hall regarding the check and this can take up to a month or more to process. So now I will be on another wild goose chase to retrieve this deposit because people over at Ferguson city hall never answer the phone. The manager over the event at the community center (Shantelle) was at the center but never would come out to address the issue, it was like she is the wizard of OZ and can never be seen, I have yet to see her. We met every deadline to make the event possible but when it came to providing a proper room and returning the deposit but Ferguson community center fell short. It was inexpensive to rent the room but you truly get what you pay for. It would have been worth the extra money to have had a better event space and better service. The track out site of the building is very peaceful and perfect for walking or running alone or with your Dog... they have trash cans so you definitely take your pet for a run with you. The facilities inside very organized and clean, also very peaceful. The Gym is small buy has enough to do your work out, people is nice and polite and they clean and sanitize the equipment frequently. If you want a membership to use the gym is very affordable, if you don't want to commit for the full year you can just paid for the day you want to go and is also very affordable... I would have given a five star but all it takes is that one rude and unprofessional employee that represent the company in a very unprofessional and poor way talking over me and doing Sydney's job instead of allowing me to speak to Sydney !! Nancy was rude and talked over me very unprofessional !!! I hope someone that can enforce hospitality ,customer service and respect to the customers and talk to the employee's because you never know how you'r talking to and you can lose business this way that's including job's you can be replaced !!
