I recently visited this Food Lion location and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The store's poor management, lack of customer service, and the gradual decline in its overall atmosphere left much to be desired.
Here are the key aspects that contributed to my dissatisfaction:
Unhelpful and Disrespectful Employees: The employees at this location not only lacked helpfulness but also displayed a disrespectful and unprofessional attitude towards customers. Some of the employees exhibited behaviors that could be described as being "ghetto," including using inappropriate language and engaging in confrontations with customers. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and creates a hostile shopping environment.
Outdated Store and Long Checkout Lines: The store's physical appearance has noticeably deteriorated over time, giving it a somewhat "ghetto" vibe. The recent enforcement of paper bags seemed to have caused the checkout lines to be consistently long, resulting in frustratingly long waiting times. This made for an inconvenient and time-consuming shopping experience.
Inadequate Stock and Unorganized Displays: it's obvious that this location struggles to keep up with the demand, frequently resulting in unavailable items. The store's shelves were disorganized, cluttered, and often obstructed by employees and vendors. This made navigating through the store difficult and time-consuming, further adding to the feeling of a declining and disorganized environment.
Unprofessional and Unhygienic Employees: The lack of professionalism among the store's employees was evident in their appearance, behavior, and language. Some employees displayed behaviors that could be described as "ghetto," such as being on their phones, eating, or engaging in personal conversations while on duty. Additionally, the employees did not maintain good hygiene, and their uniforms appeared worn-out and in need of an update.
Safety Hazards and Unpleasant Atmosphere: The store's crowded layout, combined with equipment and merchandise left on the floor, created a hazardous environment. Tripping hazards were common, posing risks to both employees and customers. Furthermore, the presence of fights between customers made the shopping experience not only unpleasant but also potentially unsafe, especially for families with children.
Deli and Bakery Shortcomings: The deli department at this location was slow and appeared understaffed. The quality of service and food safety practices were concerning. Saw an employee repackaging items that they claim to be freshly baked.
The store is obviously supplying other communities with groceries via delivery services, lacking the ability to provide to its local customers. I believe that the delivery services are bringing ghetto people into our communities. I think this is a problem that will only get worse as time goes on.
Grocery stores are no longer represented like they once were.
I would recommend avoiding this Food Lion location as it is not worth your...
Read moreI went to buy groceries the other day. I am disabled. I have a few problems. I had it down to check out the The cashier to the left turned his light out as I got near the line. I looked down towards the end. There was one other cashier and I attempted to go to her line and she said that she was closed as well. I asked if there was any other cashiers she said no she said just go use self-checkout. I told her I really couldn't The remark I got back was oh well. So I told them I guess I will go to Giant and buy my groceries where I can have someone check me out. I know your companies Mark the price of groceries up so you can pay for employees to operate the cash registers. If I didn't have disability issues, I would have simply asked you to give me a discount to pay me to operate the cash register to check myself out. I feel if you're going to force people to check themselves out you should give them a discount or you should put a sign out front that says you are not checking people out. You have to check yourself out. In that case I will just go to another grocery store so I don't have to deal with this. As full as my grocery cart was and as small as the self-checkout counters are, the groceries would have had to have been piled on the floor to bring them all up and bag them have partial use of my left hand and my other hand is not in very good shape. I feel that you guys don't really care about your customers. There should be somebody Manning to cash register or you need to make the price of groceries a lot cheaper. That way I could pay somebody to come with me to bag my groceries and help me ring up. I'm very frustrated. I don't like to have to say something like this to someone I don't like having to have confrontation. I hope you'll at least read this and take in consideration for people who are disabled and not close the cash registers on them. It's very depressing to know that there's things that other people can do, but I cannot and I feel like y'all rubbed...
Read moreI was truly disappointed with my visit to Food Lion grocery store. I went there with high expectations, as the name of the store led me to believe I would be able to see real lions. However, my expectations were not met, as there were no lions present in the store.
Upon entering the store, I immediately noticed the lack of any sort of big cat displays or habitats. I scoured the aisles in search of any sign of lions, but to no avail. I even asked a store employee if they had any lions on the premises, and they simply looked at me with confusion and told me that Food Lion is just a grocery store chain.
The store itself had a decent selection of products, but my disappointment at the lack of lions overshadowed any potential enjoyment I could have had shopping. The aisles were cluttered and disorganized, and I found myself having to search for items I needed.
The highlight of my visit was the bakery section, where I was able to indulge in a freshly baked cookie. However, even this small joy was marred by my disappointment. I couldn't help but think about how much better it would have been if I were able to enjoy my cookie while watching lions roam about the store.
Overall, my visit to Food Lion was a complete letdown. I was extremely disappointed that there were no lions present, as the name of the store led me to believe otherwise. While the selection of products was decent, the disorganized aisles and lack of big cats made for a less than enjoyable shopping experience. I cannot recommend this store to anyone looking for an exciting and unforgettable shopping experience, as it does not deliver on the promise...
