Not a great experience. Their workout/drill camp are good. They actually have people who are experience running it.
But If your kid has no experience or first time playing, this isn’t the place. You’re over paying . Rec. Soccer are volunteers coaches. So it’s a hit or miss if you get a coach with soccer experience. And if there is no coach, they have one of their high school premier player as a coach, and you go off their high school soccer/class schedule for your kids practice days. So one week you have a Tuesday @3pm practice then the next week, it could Wednesday @5pm. Inconsistent. The older kids U11 played on grass the whole season while the little kids played on turf. When I had issues about my daughter’s schedule, it was impossible to get a hold of Cheryl Mercuri until I asked for a refund and cc: the president. All she said was “well we can’t fully refund“. This is a month into the season.
The coach we experience was horrible. She was inexperience with soccer & lack of youth mental health. This certain coach made her own daughter the captain of the team before the season started and had never had a practice routine ready. The way she spoke to these girls were out of line and I was glad I pulled my daughter out. Not all volunteer coaches are good. But the communication to get a hold of someone from the club, was like an obstacle course. If you don’t mention money/refund, you won’t hear from anybody.
Do not come here, especially if this is your first time. YMCA & Boys & Girls Club are waaaay...
Read moreThe turf fields are good, but I wasn't too impressed with the other grass fields and parking areas. We attended the Rainier Challenge for one weekend only. Most games were on grass. The grass was somewhat tall and the ball just died. If you kick it too far out of bounds, the ball lands in a moat that separates farm fields. Overflow parking is in a field, with the dirt driving paths lined in hay.
In some ways, the smell of the hay and surrounding farmland contributed to a quintessential Puyallup experience, like playing soccer on a farm, so we still enjoyed it. The outhouses smelled good, the people were friendly, and the swirly spud (coiled fried potato on a stick) along with dippin' dots at the concession area were a bit hit. The Premier football teams are...
Read moreClub/coaches - Poor communication with parents (leaving parents out of changes to schedules), poor dedication and commitment to the team (minimal engagement during games), poor connection with player abilities (putting players in positions during games that they do not practice/know well resulting in repetitive loses). Not to mention, allowing players to play up based on parents networking abilities. That’s a no-no WPFC!!! You did it anyway though. Seems to be a common thread with this organization. I’ve had enough with this club. ...
