I may have stopped at this one [preferably] or the one some distance up the highway eastwardly, still, by name, respectively Francisco's. It has been some years though. In the photos, I noticed Pitaya, a.k.a. Dragon Fruit. I have a distinct, keen sense toward these variable and hard-to-discern flesh color inside and how-to-determine color inside from the outside. What else? I know that I have an interest in another fruit, and it is now more frequently seen in tropical fruits, domestically. What is this other tropical fruit? It is none other than MANGOSTEEN, which was one of Queen Victoria's favorites.
I have developing interests in some other fruits, certainly: red flesh apples that have real true red seeds inside, and not brown seeds. I have yet to encounter this. Firestone peaches have yet to be seen for purchase, however, they do have red flesh. Red flesh fruits are any mans usefulness, why? Lycopene is for a mans potency, and many fruits that are red have this, including watermelons. So, that is Lycopene, however, pigmentwise, there is also anthocyanins found in red fruit flesh. Read moreBeautiful display of the season’s greats. An enriching shopping experience versus grocery store overwhelm - outdoors in fresh air, surrounded by trees. We scored giant avocados (3-$5), strawberries, pineapples, mangoes, bananas, ginger, potatoes, onion, oranges, squash, cucumber, beans, lentils, frog balls (pickled Brussels), and some candies. I will be back. Presentation was clean and easy to navigate. Young person at the register had a warm smile, was friendly and helpful. Parking is easy, though I’d prefer to turn right off 126, which is done when traveling east; could always turn around at the light at the AM/PM just past Francisco’s if traveling west. They had green tomatoes which are hard to find so I'm cooking up a batch of fried green tomatoes oh so delicious, avocados, bellpeppersbto stuff with a savory ground beef filling, zucchini, yams, and a delicious coconut macaroon and cold pellagrino water for the drive home...I love that stand and will go again...much nicer produce than a market, that's all they do and...
