Shopping at my local Dollar General has become increasingly frustrating. The level of customer service has noticeably declined—most employees no longer greet customers or offer basic courtesies like thanking shoppers or asking if they found everything they needed. During a recent visit, a price check was needed, and the key holder who responded was visibly annoyed, sighing and walking away without saying a word. The cashier also remained silent and didn't even tell me the total of my purchase, which left me guessing at the register.
This lack of professionalism isn’t new—this same key holder shoulder-checked me in an aisle weeks ago without acknowledging it. These incidents reflect an ongoing trend of discourteous behavior and poor customer service.
The store’s overall condition is also concerning. The entrance is frequently blocked by carts filled with clearance items, which poses a potential safety hazard. This used to be a store I enjoyed shopping at, but it’s become a place I now avoid. Employees often dismiss customer inquiries with vague answers like “Check back next week, it might be on that truck.” I expect more from a neighborhood store and urge management to prioritize cleanliness, product presentation, and—above all—customer service.

Also isles are crowded with boxes of merchandise making it difficult to get items off shelving. Seems short staffed alot. Staff are very helpful...
