Glowing Review for Jason D. Jason was spectacular! We will definitely specially request him by name the next time we need any plumbing work done. My partner and I felt very comfortable having him in our home for 4 hours. I usually feel very uneasy having people in the home working on repairs but not with Jason! I felt really SAFE having him in our home, which is a GLORIOUS feeling. He was at ease with our 2 dogs (1 big + 1 small who go into guard dog mode with strangers in the home) and with our 2 young kittens. Jason REALLY went above and beyond for us and did it all while being incredibly kind and friendly. He went out of his way to come with options that fit our budget while still doing quality work and he came up with creative solutions to do that for us when our budget was quite small when it comes to plumbing work. Having a fully stocked truck was incredible, he was able to do the entire repair in the visit and his creative solutions were totally enabled by how well stocked the supplies on the truck were.
As a new first time homeowner, I REALLY appreciate the care and patience he took to explain everything to me in simplified terms since I know very little about plumbing and I could sense that he was being very ethical and honest about his work. When you have a professional in your home to do repairs that you’re not knowledgeable about yourself even when they are very nice you can sometimes tell they are being a bit shady with their prices, honesty, and the way they frame things but that was definitely not the case with Jason! I got the clear impression that he takes the ethics in his line of work very seriously. Jason is also a general contractor and his expertise really shined. We only moved into our home about 6 months ago and it’s become apparent the previous owners took terrible care of the homes plumbing. Jason was so patient with us and our dozens of questions about the plumbing in our new home and how to best care for it in the short and long term.
The most affordable option to solve the serious leak in our shower was to cut into the wall behind it but repairing the dry wall just wasn’t in our budget and when I was honest with Jason about this he got creative and came up with a solution to put a panel in the hole in the wall that would make accessing the plumbing in the shower in the future much easier. We can paint this panel whenever we want but in the mean time it looks great! I don’t feel the need to paint it immediately because it looks so sharp! And I’ve used the shower to test it out since the repair and the addition of the panel and the work is very quality, absolutely no issues! I cannot express how grateful I am that he was willing to work with us, brainstorm with us, and get creative about a way to do quality repair work while staying within our very limited budget. I really felt like Jason had our best interests in mind and was using his know how to help us out instead of screw us over. The field of home repair services is ripe with people who will screw you over and overcharge you so it was such a relief to see and feel that Jason was incredibly ethical, really cares about the quality of his work, and genuinely cares enough to help you come up with a quality solution to your plumbing needs within your budget.
We have Jason’s card on our fridge where it will stay and we will always special request him by name. It is SUCH A RELIEF to know that we can specially request him by name for our plumbing needs. Being totally new to the area and this part of the country and new homeowners I feel so much more secure and at ease knowing we have a plumber who we trust, feel comfortable having in our home, and will do everything he can for us to do quality work while staying within budget. Finally, a plumber we can TRUST! This is HUGE for us. We were elated with his willingness to work with us and his quality of work. His skill, compassion, and ethics really shined. Jason truly went above and beyond for us and we could not be more grateful. I highly recommend Jason at Benjamin...
Read more8/1/21 Our most recent issue was that we suddenly had no running water at all - late on a Friday afternoon! Ugh. Turned out that our 17 year old well pump needed to be replaced. Chase diagnosed the problem on Saturday morning, Phillip got the needed supplies before the supply store closed, and came at 8 am on Sunday morning to install the pump for a 440 ft aquifer! He worked nonstop, not even eating lunch, until 2:00 pm when the pump, that extremely long length of pipe and wiring were installed and we have water again. Very skilled and professional. It was not cheap, but this should last maybe another 15 years.
We called in the morning for Benjamin Franklin to come and unclog one of our toilets. We have an annual membership, so they worked us in, sent a text with a photo and name of the plumber we should expect to see and his ETA. He and his partner arrived right after lunch and successfully cleared the toilet obstruction with their big ole toilet auger and were out of the door in less than 30 minutes. (They also augured another toilet for no additional charge just to be sure it was also free of obstruction.) NOTE and WARNING: Do NOT flush moistened cleansing wipes down the toilet even if they say they are flushable!! Most of these do say they’re flushable and safe for septic systems. THEY ARE NOT, especially if you have a septic system! The first one or two may or may not cause a problem, but when they accumulate it could be very expensive to fix - especially if it is at the septic tank. They should be disposed of in the trash after use - like a baby wipe. They do not break down at all, unlike toilet paper, and can get caught in various ways and places in your...
Read moreOne of our pipes showed copper staining in the tub . Richard diagnosed that our water pH was too low - we have well water - and after looking at the pros and cons, we decided to have BF install a water treatment unit. While he was there, we had him look at a chronic leak under the sink (seen by another plumber twice before). He quickly determined that it was a rusty garbage disposal (that we never used because we're on septic). He took out the disposal and re-plumbed the pipes under the sink. He also determined that our faucet was leaking and replaced that. Since our house is 15 years old, and he was willing to look beyond the job we called him for, we had him look at the plumbing in our whole house. He found that a well water pressure tank was at the end of its' life and performing sub par and he replaced that as well. Finally - during the construction of our house, some supply lines to sinks and toilets were plastic and some braided stainless steel. Some of the plastic ones were deteriorating and he replaced those. We are extremely happy with Richard who may be one of the most professional plumbers we have worked with. He took the time to find out what the issues were and was great at telling us what really needed replacing and what didn't. He has a passion for his work and for customer service. It was apparent that it was satisfying for him to have repeat customers (and we will be). We signed up for the yearly inspection with Ben Franklin and feel good about that. Finally, Depspite the fact that we weren't already etablished customers, BF sent Richard out in a timely fashion. Would definitely use BF and...
