Country Meat Packers — Local services in Florence

Country Pleasin Meats: I frequent this location often. Please note I have written great reviews when warranted. However, my experience on 12/24/24, was the worse customer service and respect I have EVER received at this location.

I buy honey (local) and other items from Country Pleasin’ because they are pleasant and have good cuts of meat. I went to the counter. The young lady at the meat counter was super pleasant. She was serving another customer but greeted me and asked me what I wanted. I told her what I wanted. She stated I will finish this order and help you. The person she was serving wanted more items so she apologized. She asked a young man who was cleaning the meat cutting machines to get my order. The young man did not look at me or speak. He took the same gloves that he was cleaning the machines with a picked up my request?! I was appalled and stunted because I have been coming here for years and I have never seen his behavior so rude. He set the item on the counter and walked away.

I was surprised so I told the cashier my experience. I said do not ring up this item I wanted to let you know why and what happened, she described what the person was wearing.. but she never addressed his customer service instead, when I asked why was she rolled her eyes in her head and sucked her teeth and treated my concern like NOTHING. The Cashier stated I hate that he CROSS CONTAMINATED!!! I said he was also disrespectful and rude.

She said well yeah sorry about that! WHAT! I was shocked at the lack of customer care concern. And that she was willing until I stopped her to let me buy the CROSS CONTAMINATED MEAT! The ordeal was not Country or City Pleasant!...

I don't even know where to start about this place. It's a MUST stop every time we pass through. Smoked pulled chicken, homemade ribeye meatballs, beef jerkey (AMAZING), the hot bar, fresh meats, brisket, and everything else you can name. The slop sauce is the best thing you'll ever taste. I bought 2 small bottles years ago, and have remembered it ever since. This time, I bought 2 gallons. The only thing I wasn't a fan of, was the smoked chicken off of the hot bar- it tasted like it wasn't cleaned before cooking, and had the taste of blood and chicken fluids in the meat. We went on 8/30,24, and went back on 8/31/24. We spent more money here than our total lodging costs, and its worth every penny. The super nice cashier laughed when she saw us back the next day to get a 2nd gallon of slop sauce... we love...

They have a good amount of meats, but the little blonde girl working behind the meat counter around 3:50 Saturday sep 2nd, 2023 was very rude. My family and I were waiting in line and she asked the person behind us if they needed help like we weren't even in line. She asked us to move so the people behind us could see the meats. I made a comment about us being in line first waiting, which she could see because we were directly in front waiting for someone to help. And she was like ohh I thought someone else was already helping you. Then continued to smirk at us the whole time we were in there. The dark haired girl was absolutely amazing though, sweet and very helpful and stepped up to say she would help after the other girl said she'd get to us next. And was nothing but kind and helpful the whole time...
