Heceta Head — Local services in Florence

Heceta Head is a beautiful area with ample paid parking, bathrooms, trails, beach, caves, caretaker house, & Heceta Lighthouse to keep a family or individual entertained for hours. There are tons of photo ops all over this area. You have to walk up a well maintained trail to reach the caretaker cottage (B&B) & then onto the Lighthouse. The beach is tucked between the cliffs on each side & has several tide pools to enjoy as well as big open mouthed caves that don’t go back very far, but are cool all the same. Great picnic spot. We often stop here to use the restroom after 4 wheeling. Lots of people with dogs, kids writing huge letters in the sand or building castles and great photography. The tide moves in and out making some of the cave-like rock formations in the cliffs accessible but make sure you keep your kids close and watch the tide.
