Ocean Dunes Golf Course — Local services in Florence

I played here today for the first time in a couple of years. On previous trips, it was super windy, and combined with a very narrow layout, it wasn't very enjoyable. This evening, there was only a light breeze and that made the course much more pleasant and manageable. It's a short course, so if you keep it in play, you will have opportunities to score well.

Course conditions were pretty good. Greens generally rolled well, some wet and overgrown spots in fairways. Bunkers looks like they could use a bit more sand and some upkeep.

There are some neat holes on this course, and some holes that make you scratch your head. Lots of holes play layup mid-iron, wedge; without a go for it option. Several nice downhill par 3s. The only hole that is open off the tee and invites driver if you're a longer hitter is #13. Back nine has more character than the front if you only have time to play nine.

Had a great first time experience here as far as staff and course Weather was great. The real problem with our visit was the "mens" club members being rude and pushy on the course. If they own the course then maybe the course should be closed while they play. I golf to enjoy the experience, I don't need rude people trying to ruin it. A good course that has reasonably steeper pitches to climb if you're walking. Some tight fairways and greens are somewhat challenging. No true range but they have a shed with mats and a practice net.
