We have been to lots of national parks and this was perfect for our family (kids 14, 11, 7) and was less rushed than the harder-to-get-to island NP in California (also great), but we still wanted more time. Snorkeling south beach by the old pier provided ample coral and fish, and with it's gentle current and beach access, all the kids had a great time after getting defeated fighting ocean currents near pennenkamp coral. Walk the most wall, and explore the top of the fort walls. Recommend walking and exploring first, then hit the water until it's time to head back to the boat. Going in early April may be less green but way better climate (not too hot), while water temps are very doable...

There was never a moment when they looked annoyed, tired, or unwilling to assist. The ferry itself was very clean and well maintained. The Jefferson is very impressive as well. We decided to camp for one night. There was a bit of a fly issue, but they went away at night which was a huge relief. Read moreOnly accessible by sea plane or boat and both can be chartered in KW Florida. You can camp here overnight or just day visit. Prestine snorkeling but no diving is allowed. Fee required for entrance or NP pass is needed. Allow at least an hour for snorkeling in your visit. Bring everything you need - sunscreen (reef safe), snacks, towels, fresh water.
