This site is inside the Canaveral National Seashore park and so has a national park entrance fee for the vehicle. After entering you travel about 1 mile after entering the park. It is on the west side of the road but there are only about 10 spaces to park. There is a wooden boardwalk about 300 feet long that leads you to a “T”. The site is under construction. The right hand turn on the “T” is closed with a sign across the gate. The left hand side leads down to an open area close to the river. There is a plaque that describes the site by the river. If you look to the right from the plaque you will see a shell walkway that leads along the river. The short walk through the mangroves leads to a secluded beach right on the river. It is a very pleasant...

Иногда его называли Surruque, Mount Belvedere, The Rock и Mount Tucker.

If you're a local get the $40 annual pass, totally worth it. And it is also with the $20 7 day pass if you're a visitor from out of town. Amazing place to fish and spend the day. There are many options for different types water front access. If you want the beach side, it the intercoastal side. If you're a water lover, kayak, fishing, flats fishing, surf fishing, hiking, wildlife enthusiast, photography, or just a picnic, this place is for you. The wildlife never fails to show itself. I've seen a Florida panther, and bobcat in there. Not to mention many other species of all types, to many to mention. Absolutely amazing to explore...

Turtle Mound is worth a visit! It is a short out-and-back walk on a wood boardwalk that ascends the mound. At the top, you can experience a 360 degree view, which allows you to see both shores of the island. Plenty of butterflies and other critters to be seen, as well as some amazing twisted Oak trees and other vegetation. It is amazing to think that the mound was created from discarded shells by the local natives. How many years it must have taken!

What a beautiful place!! Views were gorgeous and it was very peaceful. We saw several turtles crossing the roads. Would recommend going with your family and stopping also at the 1st beach parking area to enjoy the beach, shells and waves. :) However, if you have kids you may not want to go any farther down the road because the last few beach parking areas are also a nude beach.

• Visited on Friday morning in late December. Most kids still in school so it wasn’t busy at all. • We stopped at turtle mound before park visitor center, and views were great and worth the stop. • There were a hand full of parallel parking spots on side of the road.
