This review is based on a consultation and experience with the front desk only, which was enough to make me not return for services. I have a brown spot on my face that is getting darker and was looking for advice on what service would be best for lightening it, either a chemical peel or a laser treatment. After spending an hour on their web site, I called them with questions on some of the services and the girl at the front desk knew absolutely nothing about the different peels or facials and what was included. After confirming with her that they have a medical spa in addition to the day spa, I asked for a consultation specifically to discuss the peels and laser treatment to lighten the brown spot. She told me to come the next day at 12:30 and didn't take my name or anything, which I thought was weird, however when I came the next day, she was expecting me and set me up for the consultation. Soon after getting into the room, I found that she had set me up with an aesthetician who only does facials and could not answer any questions about the peels or laser. She removed my skin care (without replacing it before sending me out in the sun) and observed my skin under the light and recommended the glam glow facial for my overall skin care, without addressing the need that I came in for to begin with. The when I asked her why she recommended that facial for me, she actually shrugged her shoulders and made the mmmmm sound, like she was trying to think of something to say. I edged her a little by asking, ''like how does it work / what are the benefits of that one over the other ones that apply to my skin needs?' She replied with 'by removing a layer of skin?" Yes, she she said it as a question, not a statement. Then she went on to say that she had gotten that one in the past and she felt like it helped her. She offered NO information whatsoever about what nutrients are applied and they would benefit me. I did leave her a nice tip for taking up her time, and then declined to schedule an appointment when I was accosted at the front desk. It really is unbelievable how not only the person answering the phone was unprofessional, not knowledgeable and didn't listen to what I wanted, but then the actual aesthetician didn't even know her own product. I didn't blame her for the mistake of the front desk putting me with her, but she really could have turned it around if she knew what she was talking about with regards to the services she could offer. I got a luxury spa day package for a bachelorette party of 7 with the sauna add on for everyone. The sauna was nice, but cramped and barely seated everyone. The private room was large and spacious with plenty of comfortable seating, but was not private as it opened to a hallway of massage rooms and to the lobby. When done with the sauna the party sat in the private room for a bit without engagement, so I needed to initiate the salt soaks and drinks that came with the package. The treats and drinks provided were super nice and we were able to bring our own as well. When checking out, one of the line items wasn't discounted which should've been and I had to come back to pay for someone in the party that was left out of the initial charge as it seemed their system was malfunctioning. While on my drive out, I was called and asked to provide my credit card details to fulfill the refund, but immediately after I was told a minimum tip of 10% would also be charged. I felt that was shady as that wasn't explained to me at the time of the charge and I was able to select no tip while being charged. My comment was dismissed as it being a policy outlined on the website. If this is a policy it needs to be integrated into the system they're using or as it's own line item charge as a forced gratuity instead of calling and charging after the fact. That was truly an uncomfortable feeling to give my card information for a refund then immediately being told I'd also be receiving a charge.
