PEOPLE OF COLOR don't waste your time, energy, or money. My mom and I applied to the waiting list(which is a pre approval) I month later we get a call from Deena(property manager) saying she has a unit available for end of August 23' I asked when would be a good time to view the unit she tells me "Oh I know someone who'd take the unit without it being viewd...so are you sure you want it" I of course tell her we do but we'd still like to see it.she says okay and we set a time and date. The day of the appointment arrives and I can't find the building she mentioned so I call 5 times no answer. She eventually calls back the next day or so and says I went to the wrong address. SHE GAVE ME THE WRONG ADDRESS okay mistakes happen so I ask to reschedule she makes excuses about how it inconveniences the residents that's moving out and how she still has that person who'll take the unit without viewing it. So we eventually reschedule . The day arrives and an hour before she calls and says the resident is sick so there's nothing she can do but we need to make a decision. She tells me to just look at the floor plans online . So we look online and proceed to start the move in application. We pay the fee and complete the application. Just to find out we are over income. I call and speak to her about it and she says that we entered false information. Even though we didn't I'm like okay I'll just remove myself from the household and my mom will apply alone . I asked if my mom's income alone was within the guidelines she said yes. So I ask her how to go about removing myself because you aren't allowed to edit them online . We go back in forth over email for a week before she just says I'm not allowed to do that. My mom then reapplied all over again and she said to resubmit the application fee and she'd be fine. After she pays the fee again she tells her she's not within income. I spoke to her supervisor Danielle Lee, I explained the situation and she did nothing. She didn't even pretend to give af. She just told me she couldn't discuss it with me. I'm not saying they're racist. I'm just saying they took our money and wasted our time and even the supervisor didn't give af. It worked out for the best because if this is how they handle applications I can't imagine renting through them and needing assistance with anything. If I could report them to the board or something I would but I just wanted to warn those applying.Deena doesn't seem to know what she's doing and her supervisor doesn't care...

As much as I love these homes, its sad to see the people that can get accepted here and no matter how much you have changed everything in your life, they will not overturn a denied application and any background or bad credit youre denied. The worst part is, they own any normal nice place that takes section 8. Most people on section 8 haven't had the easiest go in life (who has right?), so no matter if you have always paid your rent on time, do not disturb others, are a great tenant, a less than perfect life with get you barred from any chance at your children having a beautiful place to live, even if you know you have done everything you can. They only take income based families, but they deny everyone on credit rating and background check. Makes no sense.
