The boat trip is around the top part of Voyageurs National Park, right along the Canadian border. Its certainly worth doing and you get to see a lot of the park, however there is not that much to see. There were a few eagles, but at a distance, so you need binoculars or a good camera, not something you can take pictures of with your phone. If you have to choose, Kettle Falls, I.W. Stevens resort and Ellsworth rock garden were much more interresting.
