Life experience living in small towns has taught me there is typically a local butcher from which to buy fresh beef, pork and sometimes chicken. So after my recent move to the beautiful mountain town of Rainsville my search for a local butcher didn't take long! When I found Gary's and read the reviews it wasn't long before I went to check them out. I spent a total of $97 and walked away with more than I could've imagined. I bought: 2 Chuck Eye Steaks, 2 Filet Mignons, 2 2-lb pks 80/20, 2 1-lb pks fresh hot pork sausage, Pork neck bones, 2 Dozen Fresh Jumbo Eggs, 1 lb Hoop Cheese and 1 Pkg Pork Egg-rolls. (I forgot the fresh butter 😱) I haven't cooked all of this by any means but I can tell you the quality cut of the steaks is far beyond anything you will buy in a big box store. The sausage is amazing and the eggs are great! They are located in a small building on Brown's Chapel Road, not far off the beaten path. You will be greeted with a smile and any assistance you may need! So do yourself a favor and stop in to see these folks! After getting sick from eating meat from a chain store in the past, I am very cautious about buying meat from just anywhere, and I get very concerned about making any changes in my buying habits. With the recent price hikes in meat prices, I felt it had came time to look for a more reasonable option. I can gladly say I am so glad I founds Gary's Custom Retail Meats. I purchased a good selection of meats, and we have not been disappointed. The hamburger meat is awesome, taste like it doesn't even have any fillers, almost like ground steak! Excellent beef and pork. The most tender Filet I've ever had! The ground beef was the tastiest and didn't require any additional seasoning. Pork chops were AMAZING!
