It would be greatly appreciated if St. Lucie County Parks & Recreation Department would forewarn patrons about the events that will take place at the stadium. Notifying the public on a sheet of construction paper or a sticky note, posted at the entrance would suffice. Today there was a little league football game that was scheduled around noon or so. Without public notification, how could the patrons utilizing the stadium at that time know? They wouldn't. Instead patrons were addressed by a coach from one of the teams in a very condescending tone telling patrons, "You Gotta Get Off The Field, Y'all Gotta Get Off, We Got A Game." It's not what was said, it's about how his message was conveyed. Which was UNPROFESSIONAL & ALL OUT TACKY !!! Parks & Recreation workers frequent the park fairly often & were there moments prior to the incident. In today's climate & to prevent future conflict, notify the public in advance. Not having TIME can be ruled out as a factor. Workers will sit idle 30+ minutes in their county issued vehicles gazing down patrons utilizing the stadium. Be Proactive & Do Better, Please...
Read moreIt's a large recreational area. I stopped by the Fenn Auditorium, and the skateboard park was next door. It was a very nice skateboard setup and had numerous curves and changes in elevations. There were several men and women using the park and all had protective gear on. The entrance requires registration for use of the park and requires and reviews the safety requirements. Very, very, well run for a sport new to most of us old timers.
