A Wonderful Experience at the USO – Thank You! From the moment we arrived, we were truly impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the USO. Upon entry, your military ID will be checked, and from there, everything is smooth and pleasant. A lovely volunteer greeted us with kindness and care, and even gave us a small tour of the facility. She was extremely polite, attentive, and clearly dedicated to making everyone feel at home. The place itself is clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. There are plenty of cozy chairs where you can relax, and the environment is calm and peaceful — just what you need during travel or downtime. The kitchen area was a highlight — spotless, well-organized, and fully stocked with drinks and a menu that allows you to choose whatever you like. It felt like being in a thoughtful, welcoming home away from home. There are even designated rooms if you need to rest or take a nap, which is incredibly helpful and thoughtful. My husband and I were honestly amazed. We’re so grateful for places like this that support and care for service members and their families. A huge thank you to the volunteers — your kindness and dedication mean the world. Keep up the amazing work!

MSP lacks a USO, yet has a large number of military personnel travel through enroute to their final destination. The story behind this organization as explained to me is that it was started by the mother of a fallen Vietnam war Soldier who used her own funds to start the project. It provides all of the amenities you can find at any USO, and even has a rather large bunk room for those with longer layovers or those who get stuck overnight. The only issue is it is located outside of the security checkpoint, so you have to go back through security once you are done. Great place and good folks who work there!

I was assaulted trying to gather information as to why they didn’t allow non active duty members. The volunteer was racist, homophobic and sexist. He slammed the door on me for asking about information The police arrived immediately because he pressed the duress button

I was immediately treated as an assailant due to the duress warning. One officer (#56) was at least courteous to lower his tone but his partner shnelk— continued to berate me and even asked if he could see under my shirt to see if I had been bruised. They both condescendingly rolled their eyes and treated me like an unhoused individual without asking my experience.

I’m a 14 year combat veteran. This policy of only active duty members is not only not clearly depicted but the policy is being used as a reason to discriminate by the volunteers is truly the dishonor

I can’t believe in 2024 at a publicly advertised armed forces venue this type of treatment is the standard for a women of color combat veteran.

Truly the ONLY negative encounter I’ve had in Minnesota and so unfortunate that it was at the hands of my very own brethren.

Please revise your policies to prevent further damage to marginalized veterans that don’t have the agency to speak for themselves. I have the privilege of my education to know that this man’s behavior was disgustingly wrong but not all do and this false advertising of “armed forces service center” propagated a series of events that a privileged white man felt entitled to slam the door on a...

The facility is clean and well laid out. The snacks and drinks are great as well. However, the staff was a mix of good and not so good. After placing my carry on in the required area, I kept my small backpack with me (think a small CamelBak). I proceeded to grab a snack and a drink, the gentleman attending me was nice and had a smile on his face. After finishing my food, I went to the lounge area to relax for a bit. Out of nowhere a female voice shouts out, "You need to put your bag in the baggage area! Fire code rules." I paid no mind as I didn't think she was talking to me and continued relaxing. She then came to the end of the row of loungers where I was and repeated herself. At this point I know she was talking to me. There were a couple of ladies in another row who had purses way bigger than my backpack, but she said nothing to them. I got up calmly, retrieved my carry on and left. The gentleman smiled and wished me safe travels. Now, I am usually not one to compare one thing to another as there are many uses of a purse that do not necessarily correlate to my backpack, but how is a small backpack more of a code violation than an oversized purse? After reading other reviews, I'm sure it is the same lady being pointed out consistently. I'd like to give the center five stars, but I have to take everything into...
