Steak House Restaurant — Local services in Fort Stockton

Really bad food and the service was terrible. We spoke twice to the waitress on the way in and she just looked at us and it didn't get any better.

Frozen shrimp half cooked and the chicken fried steak (supposed to be award winning) had so much garlic and pepper I couldn't taste the thin piece of meat. After the experience with the waitress and the empty cafe I thought CFS was a safe menu item, this is Texas!

We spent $32 on food that we could barely eat.

We travel this corridor occasionally on our way from Austin to Ruidoso. We will never stop there again.

Good food isn't hard but a friendly wait staff can make bad food doable.

We stopped here after a long day of driving based on the reviews. When we got there there were two other tables with people, so it wasn't very busy. Good thing because there was only a single person waiting tables. She brought us water and menus, and then disappeared. When some people came to pick up their takeout orders, she worked the register, but instead of taking their money and thanking them, she stood there chatting them up for quite a while, and ignoring us. After 18 minutes of waiting, we were too hungry to wait any longer, and left. As we passed her she gave us an insincere smile and said "Sorry about that!". If I were the owner I would get rid of people like that who don't understand basic...

Im from out of town, the placed looked ran down on the outside, but I thought "looks can be deceiving" so I decided to give it a try ... I walked in and it looked nothing like a steak house. My first thought was school cafeteria lol but I ordered anyhow... not much to choose from but I got a steak and fries (only 3 sides to choose from) when she asked what I wanted to drink, I said coke, she brings me a can coke !?!? What the heck??? Sooo I get my food and it tasted terrible, long story short I paid $38 for ONE person and it wasn't worth $5 ...
