WM is a great service, but..... they recently changed there pick up criteria. There is only 1 container provided per household. You have to pay for additional containers if you have a family with kids. If your trash DON'T fit in the container they won't pick it up. So if you have one bag sitting next to the container, they will NOT pick it up. You have to call in advance and "prepay". I already had a few miscommunications happen with the "office" and their "drivers". He didn't pick up what he was supposed to and had to come back. I can't imagine the money they spent across the country for this new software to keep drivers in the loop. I know they brought in over $14,000,000,000 BILLION last year. I believe this is all because, back in the day you had a driver and another guy in the back throwing trash into the truck. Now they have ONE guy driving who doesn't even get out of the truck. They have an arm that reaches out and picks up the container. Some say advancing with the times.....I say greed and don't want to pay the additional guy. Just my opinion. I bet they look forward to Christmas with all the extra boxes and trash...
Read moreWM drivers/workers are decent. Few problems and our cans are neatly placed post-collection. However, WM recently chose to force Elizabeth residents to use only their trash bins. I paid over $100 for a nice 64 gallon trash bin that’s 100% garbage truck compatible. However, that somehow isn’t good enough for WM. Now I have to figure out what to do with my perfectly good/intact trash bin since I have literally no room to host their parasitic addition to my unwanted “bin collection”. Not to mention a neck injury makes it impossible for me to add onto my garbage bin pad to position 3 bins. Can’t pawn the thing off on people in the area since they’re in the same boat as me. So, “thanks” WM - we didn’t want this yet you thought it best for us to have your stupid extra bin. Maybe some people need/appreciate them - what about those of us who don’t? Are you going to comp us for the loss we have to incur through this rando new requirement of yours? My bin will work fine as-is with your garbage collection trucks, but apparently that just isn’t good enough for you since it lacks a yellow lid and WM logo...
Read moreWaste Management is a large company so as a residential customer the face and majority representation of the face of the company is my area driver and the driver in my area is excellent. He often has to work by himself, but he is fast and efficient and on the occasion that I have had the chance to speak with him he has been extremely pleasant and friendly. He's really great about picking up bulk items and the occasional weeks when you have more than normal items to be picked up. He represents my entire interaction with the company, and he honestly couldn't do a better job. Billing and customer service interactions with the company are easy online and by phone and I've never had an issue with any of those interactions but the driver for my area is what truly makes my experience with Waste Management a...
