Easily the most scenic RV Resort in the area, particularly for parks without age limits. The downside to this park is the poor management and office staff. This park is run by the Natives, and they have zero incentive, financial or otherwise, to provide customer service or care if they retain your business. I had heard horror stories from others and was a little disbelieving until ingot screwed by them myself. Don't trust anything that you are told that isn't in writing. Things in like policies and deposit amounts seem to change on a whim. Get EVERYTHING in writing and double check every word of your confirmation. Double check your receipt to ensure your correct deposit was applied. If something doesn't match, do not accept any excuses- especially site numbers and check-out dates. They like to say they have to create multiple reservations in separate blocks, which somehow disappear without you cancelling them.
On the brightside, it's a beautiful location on the edge of town with great scenery and opportunity to see wildlife, however it is pretty far removed from the conveniences of town. Fountain Hills is just a few minutes drive and offers restaurants, shops and conveniences stores, as far as big box stores there is a Target and 3 grocery stores If you are looking for a place with access to nightlife or access to services like food delivery and Uber, this probably isn't the place for you. The one option there is as far as nightlife is Ft. McDowell casino about a mile down the road. The location is also very convenient for appointments at Mayo Clinic on Shea Blvd (less so for the hospital location). Getting to Mesa or Tempe for spring training games or ASU, etc is a 30+ min drive, but a easy and scenic one as you can likely take the lightly traveled & scenic HWY 87 and avoid the...
Read moreWe stayed at Eagle View RV Resort in Ft. McDowell, AZ in July. It was HOT! I would recommend staying here when the weather is cooler! We did end up having two unseasonably mild days and they were PERFECT!
This is a very nice RV Park with a beautiful, clean pool, well-maintained laundry room, and GORGEOUS landscaping. The people who run the park are nice and helpful and very accommodating.
We had a lovely view of mountains in every direction, and on our 2 days of cooler weather, we were able to sit out under our awning and lovely shade tree ALL evening and it could not have been more relaxing! We saw wild horses from across the fence that separates the park from the river.
The pool has two large shade pavilions, and there are additional pavilions just outside the pool with well-kept grills and picnic tables.
Our RV site was site 201 (read this part carefully): Site 201 sits next to a huge shaded area complete with landscaping bushes, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The Arizona sun is not kidding around. It is for real! You want shade. Other sites may have a small tree, and there are plenty of shady areas in the park to walk your dog, but not all sites have trees, and if they do, they are not sufficient to give you enough cover from that damn sun.
So, pay attention to the site map, better yet, call and ask about sites they may have available during your stay that have trees. (That is how I got the site I did - thank you, nice lady who chose this one for me based on my request).
I will definitely come back during cooler months! We were only here during July because this is when we wanted to visit my daughter (who lives in Scottsdale - 25 25-minute drive away), and this was the only time we...
Read moreReserved my space back in September for Thanksgiving weekend. Thanksgiving morning drive 200 miles. My space is occupier. I don't care if I land in one space or a other but no one on site to assist. Called the casino, website says its managed by them. Security came and hung out with us. Sat for 3.5 hours before someone made it here. That could assist. Missed my holiday with my family on the other end of town. The head of Security, his name escapes me, came over and introduced himself. Offered us dinner. Of course we took it, we didn't have much alternative.
Went to office this morning. Spoke with a gentleman named Derrick. As I explaining he literally shrugged his shoulders. I stopped mid sentence and asked if he felt what I was saying was irrelevant. He said it was and proceeded to explain that the space I had a reservation for was occupied by a long term rental.
He offered me a 10% discount and referenced that we got fed. To which I replied I feel that sitting here for 3.5 hours was worth more than a 20 dollar discount. He asked what I wanted ...I responded half which he gave.
In the end it isn't the discount, the meal, or much anything else but the "I don't care" that was presented.
I 100% salute we ko pah casino Security for stepping in and assisting to the b3st of their ability. To the gentleman who introduced himself as head of Security, your very arrival and empathy are what customer service is all about.
I will never use this...
