Bell Canyon — Local services in Four Corners States

Excellent hike in a very accessible slot canyon. There is some scrambling required. It was very hot when we did it. Check the weather and bring lots of water and some snacks. We did both Bell and Little Wild Horse canyons. The trail from the top of Little Wild Horse to the top of the Bell canyon is out in the open. There is no shade other than a few places along the trail to duck under some bushes or behind a boulder. Bell canyon doesn't offer a lot of shade either if the sun is directly overhead. Great hike with very interesting terrain. It is outclassed by Little Wild Horse next to it, but Bell Canyon is nevertheless a great hike. Neither canyon is especially technical or treacherous, but of this two, Bell Canyon has less potential for injury and may be a good choice, especially for those with small children.
