The course is a top 100 due to topography and views, definitely not customer service. Laurie, who checks you in, could use some work. There was a family in front of us. Grandpa, dad, 12 year old and 7 year old. The grandpa treats them to golf. The dad is honest and says my 7 year old will probably hit 2 or 3 shots all day is that a problem. Pays for 12 year old. About the 7 year old She say, " it the perception he is playing he has to pay" . The course is up and down tiring for everyone. There is no way the 7 year old is going to hit more than 5 shots all day. 92 dollars for a 7 year old. I accept easily I have a spectator I pay fee of 35 dollars for non playing wife to ride. Dad could have kept quiet and paid 35 dollars, but instead was honest, and that's how she rewards him. She tells us the food in the bar, in her opinion, is better than our favorite new mexican food. I had bacon burger $20 not the cost, took 2 bites and threw it away. They have a towel dip bin, asked starter for towels, he said we don't have them you can buy them inside. Seriously, I pay $135 dollars for golfer and rider, and you can not provide a wet rag. The cart lady runs out of water to sell at 11th hole it's 90+ degrees. "I don't have water i haven't restocked." Eat before you go, get lots of water at bar before you go out, no free potable water on course. However, Laurie allowed a man and his dog on the course, which put us 1 hour behind but charged a child $92. Starter tries to help, just doing his job. Top 100 views and topography, definitely not top 100 amenities nor customer service. I play 3 x week where I'm from in Las vegas, and even the municipal courses have better service...
Read moreWell, where should I start. Everything was fine until we got there and they informed us that it was Cart path only, something I wished they would've mentioned over the phone when I initially set up T time.. The other issue we had was this Very Rude aggresive toned female staff member who met us at the turn waiting to tell us that we were 30min behind pace of play. Definitely not our fault when first off they paired us up with a 80 year old gentleman who also was not informed over the phone that it was cart path only, And he struggled to walk to his ball. We tried to explain to her the situation she totally dismissed us with her very unprofessional response. I should've known better than to come here after reading some past reviews on this certain staff worker. The back 9 was not enjoyable due the the conversation that had taken place. Funny thing is that no one was in front of us and the people behind us didn't have to wait on us. We where walking off green when they tee's off, We definitely were within the flow of the game considering the Cart path only rule. Im assuming she just wanted to get home asap. Now, the course is indeed beautiful and my colleagues and I have played here a while back and were fortunate back then not to have dealt directly with this staff member. This is the last time we play here until some changes are made. Not that it would matter to them anyway, Lol. We've played just about every course in New mexico and this one is the worst in customer service. PS, Im curious if more time is given (pace of play) on Cart...
Read moreThis is a very interesting course to say the least. We played on a sunny day in mid March. The front nine was very nice with no wind and made the course very playable. Right at the time we made the turn. The winds kicked up to being 20 to 30 miles an hour and things changed big time to say the least. I’m assuming it is windy all the time at this course because of how exposed it is. This is a warning of sorts if you do not like playing in wind, this course may not be for you as it becomes incredibly challenging and borderline unfair. I actually hit the ball incredibly well that day and still struggled to post around that even remotely reflected how well I played. I’ve read a bunch of negative reviews on here about the staff, but I found everybody there to be very nice, especially the starter. My biggest complaint about this course is that the design of the greens is simply out of whack, especially given the climate of the location. It was very dry in March to say the lease and I’m assuming it’s always that way. The greens are not getting watered and there is so much ululation and thus There are areas of the greens that are completely dead. I think it would’ve been much smarter to design the greens to be much flatter so this did not happen. I’m sure the greens are much different story in the summer when the irrigation is turned on, but the fact that this is in such a dry/cold climate Means that that isn’t the case for much of the year. I did give it five stars because I had a really great time and it is definitely a fun and...
