Road is quite riddled with rocks, holes, wash board areas making this a VERY bumpy ride. Saw a wedding in one of the fields on our way to the trailhead. Black powder trail is fine with gradual incline for the first third then it gets quite steep. Take water & go slow. Views of Breckenridge ski area and surrounding peaks were lovely. Saw a few bluebirds in bushes near the stream which...

Stopped at the top of Boreas Pass and took a few photos right by the trailhead. The area was alive and lovely with wildflowers, and the temp was 63 in early August. It was a respite from the warm weather elsewhere and an overall beautiful spot.

The hike had amazing views and lots of wildflowers. Accurately rated as moderate. The views from the top were stunning. I wish it had been a clearer day, but it was hazey from the wildfire smoke the day we went.
