A couple of friends and I used Discover Santa Fe to learn about he history of the Plaza area and the landmarks around there. I have been coming to Santa Fe for the past 35 years, have lived there for a few years, and now live an hour away from Santa Fe. But using the DSF, I learned about landmarks that I had never noticed or known before. It was very impressive. A couple of alerts: The program is very engaging and requires a lot of reading. So please make sure that mind your steps and do not trip, walk into other pedestrians, or step out onto the road. The directions to the next landmarks are not always intuitive if you do not know all the street names, and it may be difficult to switch to other navigation apps while on DSF site. So, if you can, get a paper map from the hotel lobby for quick reference. Finally, the site tells you to make sure you charge the phone fully before starting the tour. This is very important as DSF uses the navigation function that can drain phone power...
Read moreOur family of four has been visiting Santa Fe to ski for many years, and this year we were looking for a way to mix up our time in town rather than just walking the SF plaza with our 13 and 16 year olds. We decided to give Discover Santa Fe a shot, and what an experience that turned out to be. We had been to all the spots around town before, but this experience was different. It was like having our own tour guide pointing out the history right in front of us that we had overlooked every single time before. We found ourselves standing where Russian spies have stood, recognizing scenes from movies, and learning all about Billy the Kid’s time in SF! The following evening our daughter was already wanting to do the adventure a second time. I am not sure if the 30 points of interest change out each time if you start a new game, but if so we would do it again just to learn even more about SF history in such a fun and...
Read moreA must do! I completed the Discover Santa Fe scavenger hunt with my 12 year old son and had a great time while learning a bit of history about Santa Fe along the way. I highly recommend this as one of the first things you should do when you aren't familiar with the downtown area; not only will you have an awesome time, but you'll finish it knowing your way around with a list of points of interest you'll want to explore even more. While educational, my son didn't feel like it was a school type trip. You earn points for answering trivia from the sites you visit along with other fun activities to "compete" against others who had completed the experience. I wish we could find a hunt like this in every city we visited, including the...
