We rented a small pontoon boat. The boat was clean. There was cell service on the lake if we ran into problems. It was a great way to get the family on the water.
I don't agree with their no beaching policy. It is good to get out and stretch from time to time. They should just give good guidance or specify locations where docking is permitted. They have a propeller in the shop that is all beat up from someone beaching. It just made me think, I don't plan on backing into the rocks...so if I just find a sandy spot that isn't going to cause damage, would it be ok to beach?
The boat did stop working on the way back but the crew credited us some funds without me even asking. I really didn't think we'd make it back. It died in the marina and I was worried the wind was going to push us into the docked boats.
I think they should give you an anchor and a map of good places to anchor since the water is so deep in areas. Fishing from the boat was pretty difficult because we couldn't keep it still and trolling was way to fast to be effective. And technically we weren't supposed to beach it so we couldn't cliff jump or fish from the shore.
I thought the comment that we couldn't pull a tube due to "safety" was pretty dumb. Whose safety? It is a tube behind a pontoon boat. Not exactly breaking speed barriers.
But all in all, it was a good way to tour...
Read moreWe rented a large pontoon boat for the day. We arrived and check in was ok got to the boat, during the check in, they indicated they disconnect all gauges to not run the battery down. The radio was included. I would think if you rent pontoon boats you would make sure the radio worked. There was no anchor on the boat, and they were strict about not beaching the boat so if you wanted to stop in a place you drift or nothing. We took off at a slow idle (leaving marina no wake zone) the engine died a few times. We took fishing rods but that was a waist of time, the boat died all day, you could troll at about 10mph or nothing. When we returned the boat I shared the motor died about 90 times. The guy told me that's strange the lady said this one was doing it too. We may have to do a tune up. I am a licensed Coast Guard Captain and I would be embarrassed to have a fleet of boats in such poor condition. Would not...
Read moreThe website shows these nice pontoon boats to rent. What we got was a hunk of junk and it was the best one of 3 they showed us. Radio didn’t work, trim didn’t work, live well didn’t work, accessory outlet didn’t work, no depth finder and it was dirty with torn up seats. You could tell the poor guys working there were used to the surprise and complaints from customers because they had a speech down pat apologizing and saying go to google and leave a review. They obviously have a monopoly and don’t care about misleading people with their website. I would be embarrassed to charge that much for such poor quality. It was worth about 1/2 what they charge. Another family there looked at their boat and left. We only took it because we drove all the way from Texas and had no...
