Debbie, the owner, had me store my tow behind next to her husband's shop. After my mom died and things were trying to settle down from estate issues I went to visit my once beautiful and barely used recreational vehicle. What I discovered was parts had been taken from the unit. Mice feces and mouth carcasses covered every surface area inside of the trailer. My bed had been slept in and the pillows were stained with sweat and or urine. My husband found the trailer door shut but not locked. And! Weeds were as tall as the unit. Adding insult to injury, we had just paid our storage for the year. Yes! We paid them yearly for storing our trailer as they allowed people to pick and pull parts from it, live in it and god only knows what else.
After our discovery we went and got one of the owners, her husband allowed her to face the music alone. She stood before me and my husband sobbing! Sobbing! She apologized and said she and her husband would make it right! MAKE IT RIGHT! How could this couple make it right! Especially after they took my hard earned money yearly with knowledge that my trailer had been vandalized and was being used without my authorization!
They didn't care! They thought because I wasn't coming down to see the trailer I didn't care! MY YEARLY PAYMENT CLEARLY SHOWED I CARED! My payment was insurance that while my unit was in their care, control and custody they were responsible for it! And! After reading the review written by Scott Worley two years ago. He wrote, "Deb and her family think they are better than everyone. Her kid and the maintenance guy are rude and drunk or on drugs. I would stay away from this spot."
As crazy and cocopig as Scott's review reads it made the most sense of what happened to my trailer. This RV park has dark secrets. I would not feel safe docking for any length of time and or eating at the establishment.
I'm still working to get my trailer restored. I've encountered horrible services such as from Pro Tech RV, State Farms Insurance and Lockey Services. My fight is ongoing with State Farms to fix the trailer. Whoever was living in it must have been transported with the trailer as it was broken into at its new location. State Farms did have the locks changed. The owner at the new RV storage place felt bad and has been working with me to ensure the unit remains secured. So, again, keep driving and don't stop until you find an area where crime isn't high and the RV...
Read moreOnce again, a pleasant unexpected desert stop at Green Earth Automotive Recycling and Storage RV Park. The name is very long. However, it is a secret place for RV travelers. Yes, it is a small park in Southern Colorado. It is extremely easy off and easy on from highway 25, Exit 30. It has a brilliant white cement fence with a wide opened entrance, just waiting for RVs to come in. We zoomed in on Google and RV Parky and it didn't show any structures; just a desert area that seemed to be spaces for RVs. The owners also runs the Automotive, RV Repair shop. I spoke to the wife and she was very pleasant and accommodating.
My wife and I were pleasantly surprise by the Restaurant BBQ & Cafe with an excellent menu. The food was finger licking good. We had the special for Friday: 2 Jalapeño Poppers - home made, Ribs on the bone, bake beans with plenty of bacon and a drink. I have a photo of the menu for your perusal. Gaby, the service manager was very attentive. Not only in checking us in, but in serving the delicious delectable on the menu. I hope the photos help you.
We happened to take the last space in the middle strip of spots. It was perfect. Since, We are 35 ft long plus the tow dolly and car, a total of 55 feet. The rig-house fit perfectly. I checked water pressure and didn't need to use my pressure gauge. Electricity hookup for every need; as well as water and sewage hookups. The center and outer spots are a bit closer to each other. However, it is quite manageable. About an hour of arrival, two very large 5th wheels pulled in and the drivers were able to squeeze in to their spot.
I did not see any laundry rooms, showers, or bathroom. We didn't need them. Since, we have those in the coach, except for laundry. We wash our clothes at the laundromat. I didn't ask about Wifi. We use our Verizon hotspot which is more than sufficient for all of our streaming and computer needs. We had 4 strong bars.
Finally, it sits on a small plateau with a 360 view of mountains, the plain below and the highway you came in on with the many travelers to and fro.
We wish we could stay longer. We will definitely be back! You must try the chocolate/coffee cake, DELICIOSO!
