Personally, I wouldn't even shop here. The prices alone are not worth the $10 in fuel to drive the extra hour away to shop... however... being a local grocer is probably pretty difficult in Walden, CO. I do frequent this establishment rather often for random supplies on short notice. I have noticed that usually the staff is pretty "friendly" with MOST of the customers, and eachother. Today, on the other hand, made me want to report the whole store to State Mandate for Health violations AND have one employee fired for her attitude.
I arrived at the store at 11:55 am. I was greeted by a very nasty look from someone who is supposed to be a Manager, which I believe was due to me politely returning a junk cell phone that she gave my son the day previous, as she had the same attitude towards me then.. She then proceeded to harshly address the other employee that she was working with as she walked into the door ahead of me to count his drawer. She then stomped back out the door with a coffee cup and poured the Coffee in front of my Car rather than the other direction where there were no vehicles parked. She then proceeded to continue to berate the other employee. Personally, I feel that a Manager should have better poise in the workplace and and be held to that standard of professionalism, but it seems No one is held to that standard. There was only one employee in the whole store wearing a mask and the Mandates for 6ft. Social distancing are not being adhered to. Many customers have complained about this and are met with attitude and disrespect. Is there no Class in Walden, CO? Do we bot have good business practices here? No care for the lives of our older population? And when has inconcideration and rudeness become a new norm to be forced on those who have personal rights to their own...
Read moreWould like to share a review but, the honest reviews DO NOT SHOW UP ON LINE, TRASHED. Fact is that Lake John has been for my 35 years, one of the greatest places to fish. Now the people that own the land next to Lake John thinks they own it. Could buy it with their high Prices. Charged $35.00 for water Bill gave out free. $5.00 for WiFi when it's free at 99.9% of the places, and you don't have to buy coffee. The people of COLORADO own that Lake so how can he makes use a profit from that? I think someone should looking that deeply! No surprise this won't be posted either. We caught fish, a 24" trout, weighted 9 pounds, but that's had nothing to do with them. I paid the motor home gas. Not many people up on the holiday liker I've been used to seeing, but maybe IRS will come...
Read moreSurprisingly nice store. I'd seen it mentioned online as a full grocery in Walden, so planned to pick up last minute groceries there for a camping trip. Pulled up outside, and it really didn't look promising at all, but went in, and found a delightful grocery with a surprising selection of other stuff - a hallway off to the side offered clothing, fishing supplies, auto and hardware, camping, and more, in separate alcoves. And while it's not a huge grocery, the selection was pretty good, and I asked about a hardware item I really didn't expect to find, and the gentleman at the register walked me to the far end of the store, and there was exactly what I wanted. I'll definitely stop back in next time...
