Went on an extremely busy day. Oct 9, mid morning. First half hour was moderately crowded, but after an hour, very few others were on the trail. After 90 minutes or so we were pretty much to ourselves going the last 40 minutes without seeing a soul. Very scenic, leaves were turned, and the trail is easy to follow and not too difficult. Close to the trailhead there were a lot of.folks taking pictures; photo...

Spent 15 awesome days camping in Pike and San Isabel National Forest in August 2020. Was first up on the South Platte River. Which if you haven't visited this river in the Deckers area, you should make it a must visit for your next outing. Then was down around Lake Manitou, Painted Rocks and the other campgrounds just north of Woodland Park. Had a great experience camping in...

I was given directions to free camping and drove down a "dirt road" to get to my camping spot! The road is 1 car wide beyond pitted with giant pot holes and if you don't have a 4x4 don't attempt! I was fortunate enough to find a spot to turn around and get my 29' toy hauler backed in to a spot that was 4' high up an...

Free camping along a BLM fire road and OHV site. No amenities at all, just a place to rough camp. The posted speed is 20 mph, but the operators of the OHVs didn't care and were driving 40 mph and faster. No consideration for the dust they kicked up at all, so try to get a site way off the road.

It no longer offers free camp sites. $15 a night now. I believe now that it's not free is why it was very quiet and secluded. I didn't see but maybe 5 or 6 vehicles the entire weekend. I was able to enjoy being nude the whole time because no one was around!
