Pike National Forest is indeed a beautiful destination, offering the best views. We also visited Pikes Peak to experience the breathtaking top view of the forest. The 3-hour ride on the cog railways was truly enjoyable, providing us with stunning vistas of lakes and glaciers. It's definitely a must-visit place for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. On our way, we had an exhilarating experience witnessing wild sheep, black bears, and a herd of deer. It was truly exciting to encounter these animals in their natural habitat.

Beautiful views no matter where you look! The drive up is scary with no guard rails but it is worth it when you get the the top. I made the mistake of going with a short sleeve shirt and shorts in mid September. With no food or water, and a quarter tank of gas. It is freezing at the top. I recommend dressing warm, packing food and water, and having at least a half a tank of gas! You have to start heading back down by 6pm, since they close the gates at 7pm. So get there Early so you have time to do sightseeing.

Breathtaking views of America's Mountain! I really wish that the website would say that there's construction and that driving to the top of the mountain is very limited (and that the shuttle bus line to the top has an insane line). Also, there was a cool rally going on today, so lots of cool cars to see if that's your thing. Remember conditions are very different at the summit than at the base, so bring water and a jacket and closed toed shoes.

The views are amazing. However, we went to hike from Devil's playground to pikes peak. We didn't make it all the way due to all the snow and ice towards the top of the hiking trail. When we got back to our car a couple of hours later, we received a note saying we had stayed past hours. The note also stated that the hours were clearly marked at the gate. When we got to the bottom the gate was locked and no way out. We were also going to be charged a fee. When I walked outside the gate to see where the hours were posted, I saw nothing. It isn't on their brochure. The fees are also a bit steep especially since we paid to get in the park in the...

This place was awesome. The crazy drive up was worth it. Not worth taking the bus to the top. No one will know you didn't go the last short distance. Your pictures will still wow them. Make sure your in a well maintained car too. You will not use your brakes on the descent only low gears otherwise your brakes will overheat and go out. They do a brake temperature check about 2/3 down the route. The weather can change rapidly. We started at 86 degrees and sunny on the bottom and 64 and rainy by the time we hit the top....
